i do the same thing.... first i prime it with a clear spray, then i \"prime\" with chaos black the dark parts and with fortress gray or skull white the parts will be painted in colors such yellow, red and so on....

That dread is going to look absolutely awsome the colours are fantastic. I said to green-stuff that I wasn\'t going to post this mini in the WIP II thread but I simply couldn\'t resist it, so here it is,
I absolutely love this miniature. There is still a long way to go but it is starting to take shape nicely. I have alot of ideas for basing the miniature but haven\'t decided on anything definate yet.
Also as my wood elf cavalry seems to have hit a brick wall, I may donate this to the Works Of the Heart Charity if that is ok with TAB.

@Tim : he\'s looking damn good . You might want to work in some rust spots on the steal for texture and depth in the paint job. Also (but it might be your lighting or my computer screen) the gold seems a bit shiny for an orc . Can\'t wait to see the rest .

There is some rust in there around the rivets and also the joins in the armour plating, I realy wanted this Orc to look impressive he is a chieftan after all, the shinyness of the armour will disappear after the model has had some dullcoat applied.

Nice work Tim I like the armour, although the skin is a bit dark for my taste in Orc flesh but then I am of the old school of Orcs

Well this is supposed to be a black orc and in the Black Moon Chronicles it would actually be black but I didn\'t want that so I went for a much darker green, I think it makes it look more savage.
I actually used an old GW pianting guide for there old Chronicle Black Orcs from an Old WD for the skin tone, now that is Old School.

I\'ve kept every issue of WD since I first started buying it from the re-issue of issue three.
Fantastic Orc! Don\'t worry, TAB will take anything you want to donate and I think this would do great. Your metallics are beautiful. Wish I could get mine to look like that.
