Google is my friend :D :D

About the show

I wish when you post some thing like this you would save me the time of searching for a link :D

I\'m interested but at the moment it is a bit early for me as I need to wait until April when I go back to work to find out exactly what is happening around this time.

Looking at the dates on the web page this is a 4 or 5 day event but it gives little information about when entries have to be in and if they have to remain for the whole show or not???

Are you looking at going over for the whole period or just the days you have mentioned???

Now all I need to do is find out where in Spain Girona is :(

Well, I had that link already in my favourites so didn\'t need it lol

I was thinking about perhaps going for the full 4 days and seeing some of the city, sampling some of the food and other attractions. Maybe even dragging my girlfriend kicking and screaming with me.

The area looks very nice from the propaganda it must be said. :D

Yes I have to admit it does look very nice indeed, I am in the middle of looking through all the stuff in the various links of the site and I have to say it does look very tempting :)

I shall have to work on one of my female friends and see if she fancies a few days abroad in Spain other than Barcelona or the usual touristy places.

I quite fancy the full 4 days, well 6 if you add a day either end for travelling.

Don\'t think I will win anything in the painting comp though the names of the judges themselves is scarey enough.

But as I said I will have to wait until April before I can commit to a yes or a no and I am working on the girfriend option at the moment so we shall have to wait and see :D

Yeah, the list of judges is a who\'s who of mini type superiority.

I only heard about the event at last years UKGD from Adie and still have little idea about what\'s going on or the format or what to expect.

Good luck on working on your girlfriend by the way... flowers, good wine/champagne and chocolates all the way lol

The painting competition is the open variety but unlike Salute whereby you have lots of categories they are running it similar to Ravage, whereby they have 3 classes and entrants put a portfolio of their work into the categories they want to enter...I think :D

I am just pricing up hotels etc on their page at the moment to get an idea of what it will cost me. Trying to work out whether they mean 160 Euros for a double room is one night or the whole four days, me suspects it is per night.

I\'m another who will be going.....went to the last one in the US. No hotel yet......

The judging is the common Open System although there are separate Fantasy and Historical categories

The list of seminars is something else too

I have just been looking at flights and at teh moment there is no way I am going to pay nearly £500 for a flight and that is just for me and not including the other half :( and hotel costs/spending money on top ot that

Who is flying from where and what dates?

you\'re gonna laugh, but I could get (ahem) Ryanair flights for £13.87 return.......
(Luton to Girona)

But then there will be extras......cost of hold luggage, cost of hand luggage, cost of air, cost of looking out of the window...... so probably ending up more....

Have both hotel and flights booked! :D

Ryanair really is something else... Flights ended up costing about twice what the tickets were priced at. For each step of the booking process new charges were being added... :cussing: Still, pretty cheap in the end, but it pisses me off nevertheless. What\'s the harm in stating the costs from the beginning?

Laugth maybe but I found it :D fly out for £7 and return for £10 not quite teh £14 you are paying but better than the £500 from other dealers.

Add in costs from Cardiff to Luton return and what not...

I am assuming Barcelona Girona (GLO) is the airport they mention on the website???

I think thats the airport

I was talking to some guys on Sunday at a show and they said they\'d booked a villa about 2kms from the venue! 8 of them! There\'s a good number of folks making a holiday of it

I\'ll be coming down the day before (2nd) and leaving the day after (7th). I\'ll stay at a hotel in town.

Yes, that is what I had in mind to do, travel a day or two either side of the show an have the chance to look around.

I was in the middle of Gooling the place to see but I had a browser crash so will need to go back to it :)
