If you are a fan of the zombie genre.. this is a must read.

A comprehensive account from people who survived the war against the undead.

Written by Max Brooks and costs about 14 dollars... .easily worth the price.

Ditto. A great read. I\'m just annoyed they made the reprint the same size as the ZSG so I have to buy it again so they match up on my shelf.

It is a very cool story!

I still can\'t get over the fact that Max Brooks is Mel\'s son.

May the schwartz be with you!

Yep, supervike and I have been pushing this book for months now. I\'m still listening to the audiobook over and over.

I think I\'m confused. Didn\'t this book just come out this October? I thought I read that it had come out last year but Barnes & Nobles just recently got it around my area.

Thanks for the headsup R4M, any other recommendations in this genre? I\'ve had a quick peek on Amazon, just curious if there\'s much/any overlap.

His first book is The Zombie Survival Guide.

I haven\'t read it but I am ordering it this week after reading WWZ. I want to make sure I am prepared incase the dead walk the earth.

If you like post-apocalyptic books.. check out \"The Road\". It has nothing to do with zombies.. all about a father and son traveling across a ravaged US trying to reach the safety of the shoreline. Awesome read.

And if you are into science-fiction/fantasy..check out \"The Lost Regiment\" series. A civil war regiment gets portaled to another world..where people are cattle.

As an aside, just from checking on wikipedia it appears a WWZ movie is on the way, with the screenplay being written by J. Michael Straczynski (of Babylon 5 fame). Might be promising.

Darth. How\'s the audiobook sound? Did they get different people to tell each story or is it one person reading the whole thing?

Brad Pitt\'s company Plan B Entertainment has bought the rights to it..its scheduled to be released sometime in 2008.

Unfortunatley it will never get the amount of funding required for the scope of the book and therefore it will be junk. I will laugh if it is PG-13. I bet 20 bucks they will take one interview from the book and turn it into a movie.. maybe the group that was stuck in the campus that repelled 100,000 zombies for 3 years...

It\'s a full cast audio. Mark Hamill, Rob and Carl Reiner, Alan Alda, Henry Rollins to name a few. Unfortunately it\'s an abridgement, but still well worth the investment.

I don\'t know about that. Yes their are some of the stories that may not translate on to the big screen well. But I don\'t think that Straczynski will stick to just one story. He may have to jump around a little, and use a as it is happening, as apposed to flashback mode of story telling.

Studios seldom will give +100 million to budget a horror film.. hence you get films where people are trapped in a mall or a base etc...

Unless they want to do zombies like they did goblins in LoTR, I fear the scope of the book is to big for the silver screen.

Very true. Hopefully with some of the celebrity pull available here, we can get some better funding.
