What was your worst mistake when modeling a mini? (or painting!)... i think the worst ive done was lost an important peice but found it later... however i do know some one that accidently glued an orc to the back of their head!lol

not a problem but a defect, i seem to be unable to stop painting a mini. I am constantly saying, \"ooh, just this one more detail/effect/layer\".

You\'re joking! Surely no-one is that daft! Have we got a smiley with an Orc stuck on its head for this topic?

This little fella keeps looking up...maybe he\'s trying to see over the top of his head.

ive done loads of mindless crap thats not painting related but i guess the worst painting incident that ever happened to me is that i tried to open a bottle of super glue with my teeth and it broke, spilling the glue all over my tongue, teeth and lips
very unpleasant experience

I think I\'m just trying to increase my post count today.
:D

Years ago when I was still relatively new to mini painting I decided to try a head swap on a figure. I\'d heard about pinning, but at the time I didn\'t have a pin vise. I chopped off the head, then tried to use an x-acto knife to crudely drill a hole in the mini\'s neck. It took hours and the mini looked like sh*t. I should post a pic.

Amazingly enough, that head is still attached!

Over xmas I tried to paint an Urban Mammoth Viridian Marine. It was the first figure I\'d attempted to paint in over 6 weeks. Unfortunately I was far too dick fingered and rusty to get very far before I finally snapped and covered him top to toe with every colour on my palette. Still got him lying around awaiting stripping.

i painted a necromundan bounty hunter really well and instead of varnishing, i sprayed him in black. wasn\'t too happy about that. painted a kal jericho coat brown instead of green (i\'m colour blind!)

@joshua - how did you manage to get it all off? were you ok?

I had a palette of wet oilpaints in my car. During the night a cat got in the car, walked through the palette then walked all over the inside of my car. Cat footie prints everywhere.:mad:lol

Let\'s see...marriage...no it has to do with minis right??

The worse mistake I made was cutting apart a LOTR Eomer that I was trying to convert into a standing model, before the Heroes of the West version was released. I was not using a cutting mat or a sharp blade for that matter, one slip later I had a dull exacto blade buried to the bone in my left hand. God must have put bones in your hand to prevent the knife from going straight through, I guess.
