WotC\'s Colossal Red Dragon Worth It?

WotC is coming out with a pre-painted colossal red dragon. MSRP is a whopping $75 (though Amazon has preorders for $40).

The dragon is here.

Knowing that this thing is really giant (the base is 8\"x8\"), that it\'s pre-painted (tabletop at best by CMON standards -- likely worse), and what\'s comparable in resin and metal by other companies... would you say this thing is worth it?

Meh!

I still want to try to find the HG of Dragon figures the Vinyl Red Dragon released through Dragon magazine around 1990.
Now that was a Dragon!

HOLY!

There\'s another thread discussing pre-painted dragon minis, such as the McFarlane line...of which there are FOUR series of dragon figures.

They\'re at a reasonable $13.00 US and stand roughly 6-8\" high each. MUCH better value.

The pain there is that the local shop that has them is going out of business and selling them at 50% off, and I have NO money for the next month at least.

Actually, why does it say:

These limited edition monsters are proportionally sized per D&D roleplaying rules to be either Gargantuan (4”x4” base) or Colossal (6”x6” base).

When it then says 8x8 base at the components? :p

Anyways, prepainted sucks... but that can be delt with. The mini on the other hand, looks bad imho... It\'s upper torso is way too big for it lower part and he looks like he is a spas with that one hand...

Frankly, I would rather buy a 6\" tall Mcfarlane dragon than this one, they are cheaper, lighter, and better painted.

Meh, I\'d got for the Mc Farlane dragons in preference to this. Or if you want a proper model kit you can\'t go far wrong with the large dragons Reaper puts out.
