Would you play against this?

Hey, it happened once. Look at the Chaos Marines. ;) If it happened once it can happen again. The way I look at it if the guy is charismatic enough and knows the right people he can have alot of them join his cause *cough* Horus *cough*. You read most of the fluff and the Imperium, for all it\'s greatness, is not about human rights and watching out for the Average Joe. If a powerful and charismatic group of people give the finger to the Imperium they might get ALOT of people supporting them. Maybe even some of the Inquisition.

I also just use the 40K world and fluff as a basic background. I use what I like and toss out what I don\'t. And most of the people I play against do not care about any fluff about my army. They just want to know what kinda troops the rhino bearing down on em is full of. ;) So not really too worried about someone giving me flak. Besides, I can dish it as good as I can take it.

You could class them as a Cadre of the Fallen Dark Angels. Nobody has said that they\'re Chaos worshippers, just no longer Soldiers of the Emperor.

The only thing is that there are certain troop types that are present in the chaos codex and not in the marine one and vice versa. If it\'s a normal marine army, just using chaos models, mak sure not to include any chaos -only models 9such as obliterators). On the other hand, if you want it to have the fluff that it has turned to chaos, maybe you should not include any marine units that are not in the chaos codex (such as the vindicator and whirlwind)

Oh, take a look at next month\'s white dwarf, the Relictors are being declared heretic by the Imperium :D
