totaly pinched this method of tidoco... a 35mm film case is perfect (with a little blu tac) for 28/32mm figs.. if you go to a photo hus / house.. they\'ll have any amount of empties and if you ask nicely it\'ll cost you 0!

for reaper and gw stuff anyways

if it\'s not a competition entry...what I do is I glue the model on to the base. -- the final base i mean.

THe bases are larger and I\'m experimenting with large real rocks, etc so the bases usually have enough room to hold on comfortably.

when you paint, paint the base last, so don\'t about some paint dripping onto it.

I tend to go out the back and swing an axe at some firewood for a bit, gets the blood pumping in my arms, and tones my muscles at the same time.

Keep fit and be warm next winter, all in the same go!!

I think the main thing is just to not have your hands locked in the same position for hours and hours.

So if Im in at night, and going to be doing things in big batches, Ill have a couple of little bits and pieces I can tick away at for five minutes or so, wander off, have a coffee, work on something else for five or so, at least somethings getting done, then get back into it.

WOW alleviating Wrist Pain and it\'s stayed clean.......oops too late.

on a more serious note mass producing armies can be a problem physically...

One thing I use is a slight modification on the dowel thing above...basically take the pice of dowel then add a T Bar across the top with ply at least 2\" x 2\" and 12\" across. cut chaos star shapes I find 5 best using a normal wood saw.. fill with Blu tac...You then have a t shaped handle that holds five minis at a time...4 ranks..The chaos star shpe slots hold thetabs and allow you to rotate tocover all angles.
alternatively with plastics I base all models up and texture/detail before Priming..then use the sme T piece and just blu tac the buggers to the top...

no matter what you use its important to take a break and exerise the wrist...get a stress relieving toy of some description always helps...
I\'ve recently put a dartboard up in my pinting room and break every so often and throw a few darts this helps on many levels it exercises my back and legs so i\'m not sat too long it gets my arms and hands circulating and it allows my eyes to refocus .....not a massive dart player was just an effort to relieve some of the physical problems that painting and aging combined bring about.
