I am currently going to college with \"kids\" about half my age. If the professors weren\'t annoying enough the students take up the slack. What is interesting is that I have developed the talent of guessing a person\'s major by just looking at them. It\'s great fun.

I am also taking my Masters and there are a number of \"Kids\" in a degree that requires a minimum of 2 years work experience. Almost half my class has never had a job and they are about to graduate as business \"Experts\". Nice to be tarred by the same group of muscleheads.....

I want to study Welsh rugby players\' hair in the 1970\'s. I see a link between hair and success you see. Muttons, flowing hair, headbands...and now the parallel with success in 2005 and the fine hairdos in the team. Can I pull that off as a PhD?

@rev makes more sense than air guitar, \'Does power hair equal success?\'lol

Didn\'t notice at first that this crazy woman who\'s doing Air Guitar is going to Salford Uni. I\'m going to do my Biology degree there in a short while. Had an open day there and it was really good even better than the one round the university of Manchester.

You may get to meet the actual woman in question.....

If you do, kick her up the arse for me please:bouncy:

@finn I\'ll certainly give it a try.

That reminds me of Father Ted when he has to kick the Bishop up the arse and the Bishop only realises what has happened when he\'s in front of the Pope lol

Erm, finn, a favour if you will....I\'d clearly mispelt the word \'believe\' when you lifted that quote for your signature. Could you fix it so that it reads properly? I don\'t want to look like a gormless cock! Or at least any more of a gormless cock than I am already lol

Do you think you could leave it alone, finn? The reverend is making me look good here. Oh wait... I have a better idea... :D

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha etc...

While I work I listen to the BBC world service over the net and guess whom they just interviewed?

You got it.

She is studying the gender differences of airguitar. She said Bohemian Rhapsody was number one for \"air guitaring\" and mentioned \"Back in Black\" among others......

Oh my lord.... What next.

Well, take this for what its worth...I\'m an uneducated sap, so I could very well be wrong.

The problem (at least in the US) with \'higher education\' is the lofty goal of \"teaching the next generation\" slipped down the scale to be almost non-existant. Universities and Colleges are all about the all mighty dollar. Not all of them mind you, but a huge majority. College education is a multi-billion dollar business. They are selling a bad product, that everyone needs, for a huge markup. Yet because of the \'NOBLE goal of education\' no one dares question its real validity.

The catch 22 of it is how the Business World and Job Markets put such an emphasis on the higher education, creating a HUGE demand for the product.

Its a freakin\' rip off, but its all part of the game. If you want to play in the game, you have to partake in the stupid rules.

Sadly this is sooo true :( And why my son has been homeschooled for a good part of his education. (Remember, \"Homeschooling isn\'t just for scary religious people.\" Buffy the Vampire Slayer). My husband received his EE from Florida State University and was disgusted to find that it was far easier to get into an engineering program than it was to get into their film school!
I have to wonder what resources this young woman is taking away from someone who wants to do something useful.

She is breathing our air and wasting our space.
I say she should be rendered down to her component parts and her organs donated to people who need them to lead productive lives.

I think she has culled herself. If she believes air guitar is important I don\'t want her handling chemicals, explosives, money etc. It looks like a kind of self-imposed natural selection.
