You know, people are gnashing at each other on just about every other website out there, about this topic. Can we NOT do it here, and avoid any hurt feelings? I trust you guys to be polite and respect one another\'s views, but what possible good can come of discussing this on CMON?

There is so much more I would like to say on this matter, but I agree with NSA that we are in danger of getting into a flame war where opinions are countered and challenged.
Rather than start more arguments and counter arguments on this highly emotive subject, I will take the request from Avalorn and close this thread.

As Avelorn started this thread I respect his wishes.

I do think closing threads because they touch on controversial subjects is counter to the CMON ethos though. In the past we have discussed religion, politics and all the other subjects that are banned on other forums and emerged the stronger for it I believe.
I have always been proud of the CMON communities members ability to deal with complex issues and respect other\'s opinions even though they disagree with them.
