Yes, the people over at Fark were having a massive nerd-gasm overt this. I admit it look sweet - I have the concept art of the \"Immortals\" as my new desktop. The thing is... I never actually played the original that much. I think I got most of the way through the Terran campaign, and it was super cool, but the problem was I SUCKED at it! I can\'t manage RTS games to save my life, I\'m always losing whole expeditions because they wander off while I\'m distracted by battle, I\'m always running out of resources at the worst possible times...
YOU REQUIRE MORE VESPENE GAS.
Even \"Homeworld\", an awesome (semi-)RTS game if ever there was one, whipped my ass once it started to get hard

I think I might be the only concerned person with regards to SC2. I played the original (and brood war) way too much and still love it, but SC2 looks too much like SC1, but with prettier graphics and new units.

The concern mainly comes from the way that I feel RTS\'s have progressed since SC first came out. Some good examples are the squad based dynamics from Dawn of War or Company of Heroes, deformable terrain, cover bonuses for terrain (and building occupation), unique heroes, resource bonuses for controlled areas of terrain and a move away from the simple rock, paper, scissors type of gameplay.

I really hope that SC2 has implemented some of the new ideas and that it\'s not simply Warcraft3 (a good game that required way too much micro-management) dressed up in the SC universe.

Then again, at the end of the day I\'ll still go out and buy it.

Peteh - i share same sentiment, that it looks the same..as SC with just new tech. But since htey said they want this to be a tournament game..i doubt they will have heroes in multiplayer, etc. For a pure tournament standpoint, IMHO, the simplest games are best (for video games that is) so they prob don\'t want lots of innovation in it..

Also, it\'s another billion or so for them

I do love the new protoss stuff, and they my fav race so I will certainly get this

Wow, that\'s somthing I\'ve been waiting for for a long time. And it comes just when I have time to play it.
I\'v never been disapointed by a blizard game, and since I\'m in love with the SC unbierse pretty sure I won\'t be by this one. Cool thing, I just finnished SC again for the sake of nostalgia

no way its gonna come out when it should ....this is blizzard of course. i think it\'ll probably come out when my son graduates college. and he is 4. so you better hope he gets his smart on or you guys have a long wait ahead of you. hehe
