This was fun to paint, and I think I can actually tolertate the metal on this guy. That\'s a big leap for me I think. Anyway, fire away. Just kick the crap outta me with your comments, I appreciate them all no matter how nitpicky or all encompassing. Thanks for looking guys. Here\'s the link.....

Is it just me, or is that Frank Zappa?
I\'m not sure about the way you did the metal on the rifle, but I do like the rest of the piece, like the sombrero and the patches on his duster. (don\'t be too put out about the metal bit- I\'m still trying to figure that stuff out myself...)

Daddyo- Yep, this could very well be the man from the mothers of invention couldn\'t he? And yes the metal does need improving. This is the first model in a while that gives me a little hope in that regard, as the metal is an improvement over my other efforts. Thanks for that reference fig GenerulPoleaxe!

Freak-Thanks man. The highlights on the coat could for sure have been brought up some. I will work the next model up a little higher.

Thanks for looking guys.

Really loving the blue freehand sticks out and breaks up the model in my opinion, also like the way you got the jeans done i really hate painting black i cant paint black as silly as that sounds when ever i do it, it looks lilke i left it undercoated hehe.

Well welldone keep painting chap!

I agree with that .. Just had a lay with a super high contrast piece a lately for the first time and it\'s crazy how much better it photographs but I\'m sticking to my style it was just interesting t try it thugh..

Anyways Great Job Scott dude.. you re definitely taking strides in that all importants upwards direction.maybe increase the level of shading on the metalsa touch more bit more shadow.. in fact a rather nifty little trick to try is to use a deeper shade of the blue youve used on the hat detail in the metallic shades . Ties thisngs together quite nicely ...

anyways cool stuff... Gonna do the rest?????? they are a fun group.

Clean... nice palette.

People already mentioned pushing the contrast a bit. There are a couple other things I\'d suggest.

The metals seem pretty flat. Looks like a black wash over Bolt Gun with maybe a hint of Mythril on the edges. You can work some color from the rest of the mini into your metals and really get some cool results. However, it could be the photograph. I have a heck of a time getting pics of metallic to turn out as nice as NMM stuff.

The whole mini seems rough. I don\'t see any mold lines or anything, but it looks a little pitted. I think it does your paint job an injustice. Maybe a good rub down with some steel wool or fine sand paper and a scrub with soap and a stiff toothbrush before priming. I think that mini is painted better than it looks.

Thanks guys!

Strigoi- That is not freehand! Sculpted detail on the hat.

DH- Thanks, I plan on doing most of the wyrd stuff (eventually)!

Arogers-Fair point about the metal and the actual preppring of the mini. I will try and use the ole dremel buffin tool to smooth out some of the figures and see how big a difference it makes.

Appreciated guys!

As well as the metals on the model i sent you, keep a spoon where you paint.

it has all of the edges etc of nearly any metal object, just hold it under the same lighting you paint under and move it to the same angle. POW instant on the spot referance to where the highlights and shadows should go.

that advice came from saxon angel a good few years ago and it helped me out tonnes.
