X-mas Swap Shop

Granddad!
Anyone else got stuff for xmas they don\'t want? Want to swap it for something else? I was also thinking that you don\'t need/have to swap with the person who has the item you want, so long as someone else wants the item you are swapping. Make sense? we\'d probably need to make a list of who has what first, obviously if it is a straight swap, just go ahead with it

I Got a copy of Adobe Illustrator 10 Classroom in a book, here\'s a link to
Amazon

Here\'s a good suggestion for getting rid of anything you no longer want.

It\'s called FreeCycle and it\'s a way to get rid of things you no longer need while helping out someone who couldn\'t afford to get that item in the first place. It\'s a great \"One man\'s junk\" kind of place. We personally have gotten rid of veriticle blinds, rugs and carpets, and picked up some end tables.

The site has \'nodes\' world wide and is well worth checking out.

Here\'s a link to the Canadian site but it has links to other sites world wide:
http://www.freecycle.ca/

There is another site similar to this that I don\'t have bookmarked but should be easy to find called, cheapcycle. This is basically the same thing but you do get some money for your wares.

As for trading, this is another excellent idea, but I like evertying I got!

The \"Freecycle\" network was a good idea in the beginning, but I know here in Cincinnati it has become a place where people troll all day and pounce on all the good offerings only with the intentions of getting it and then selling the item in flea markets or on eBay. Not what Freecycle was set up for in the beginning. Its also become a place where people are treating it like a charity and posting long lists of \"needs\" some of which are very expensive items.

Ive given a few things away on it, but found some people on it to be very demanding and pushy. Still its a good system if it works right.

Micks idea is a good one, problem is unless you local..postage on some items can be a killer.
