As much as I'd love to get it (I was a BIG SWG player before the CU) I fear that my better half may not be impressed by my paying to play a computer game - especially after her comment about me having a lot of unpainted/unassembled miniatures this morning ;)

I've had the Collector's Edition paid off since the day they opened pre-orders... My problem isn't the waiting though. It's trying to beat Skyrim before the 15th of December, lol.

Gonna be mw3 for quick single player fun, then insanity and full immersion in skyrim when they sort out the ui and it becomes cheaper

Still stuck on bf3 though atm

Me too! But SW:TOR is going to be NOTHING like SWG. TOR is going to be WoW with lightsabers and lazer guns. I mean, check out the PVP development. So f'in sad they went this way. Worst choices ever...but I'd betcha the kiddies will buy into it big time.

I thought SWG sucked, boring to play, boring to look at.

And yes TOR has taken stuff from wow, but why fix what isnt broken. Fully voiced dialogue - check - Oozes star wars character, as oposed to SWG that was jsut stale - check - Personal story - check - awesome classes - check - companion characters - check-.....

And what if the UI looks like wow, as it is the easiest one yet to use, that is not a loss. PvP i dont care about much, so i cant comment on that.

Win win if you ask me. But hey if you dont play, more room for the rest of us :)

Well, there's a great deal more to Star Wars than sith and jedi...and SWG had most of it. I don't know how you could complain about the graphics, they were very good (if you played it when it first came out...no idea how it looks these days). But if you like how WoW works and don't care about PVP then I won't ever understand you. We're about as different as we can get as far as that goes.

If that floats your boat, fine, I'm just expressing why I'm no longer keen on the game. I was very excited for the game until I heard the dev's saying things about "taking que from WoW" which gave me hesitation but I held out hope because they also said things like "we'll be taking lots from SWG" too...then very recently with all the info that's come out, I've gone off. You did ask.

I have been an sw fan since i was 8 or something, so i know all about the universe. Swg had ok graphics for its day, but for me it lacked spirit.

And as for the "wow is for kids" remark, that is harsh, just harsh.... I have played with peeps of all ages.

But lets just agree to diasagree and leave the semibad language at home. And thank god we dont get to play together :)

When SWG first came out, it was superb, very varied and brilliant communities of mature people. It wasn't a fast game to progress in so tended to loose a lot of the less mature players who wanted "quick gratification" - I ended up as a 12pt master chef/tailor which took months to achieve (and commitment too), and the spirit tended to be build from guilds who supported each other. Sadly when SOE changed it to make certain things easier to achieve it did loose it's spirit as things no longer had the same meaning. The Jedi trials, though very cool just meant that people were grinding and it lost a lot of the community as people went off and did things on their own.

When I was playing WoW I think the guild I was in had an average age above 30 ;) But it is very much a game where you can steam roller through the levels.

SWG had the most fun character class I've ever played in an MMORPG, the Creature handler - then they removed it from the game - which I consder an utterly unforgivable sin. Pre-ordered SW@TOR - then again I've played most subscription MMORPGS (still have 5 active accounts on UO), though I'm all about Eve these days.

Assuming that is directed at me, I never said that. To clear the air, I said "kiddies will buy into it", meaning it has lots of things that APPEAL to kids. Big difference.

I was more offended they made jedi's a class you can pick from the start, after I earned mine the HARD way, before they introduced the trials and stuff.
