Looking for feedback on this one. Her score atm is a touch lower than I expected, but I\'m kinda used to that at this point lol

So, looking for anything you folks might have to say about her.

A very nice model, and congratulations on first cut at the demons. I feel the score is pretty accurate at (currently) 7.2 though. The greens are a bit bright for my tastes, especially for a rohirim and do not have enough depth.

A loveley piece still though, so don\'t get too disheartened by the scores. A more accurate score will be when the mini has 50 odd votes.

Done the votey thing and left a comment, but I\'ll say here too!

I\'ll start with the good bits - I think the cloak is beautiful, well shaded and highlighted, and has a nice \'clothy\' texture to it. The freehand is simple and works well on it.

Not so good bits - the two main things to me are the hair and the skin.

Blonde hair isn\'t really yellow, in fact in general it has very little of that colour in it. Think a pale brown base going up to a bleached bone/ivory colour if they are very pale.

The skin is strange to me - although I don\'t know if that is the photo. It looks grainy (paint) and flat (shading/highlighting). Either its photo practice (and no point asking me for tips on that one, cos I\'m awful lol) or it needs a bit more of the shading highlighting thingummy.

Overall I think she is a 6.5, but went up to a 7. I think with a less flat skin tone to her face, she would defiantely be a 7 for me.

Hope that helps

Yes its the hair that looses it for me.. as the Lovely Miss Shaz pointed out look at real blonde hair..hers for example. Its more ivory colored with hints of cream and light browns with hints of white even.

I suggest you google blond hair and save some images of it and then if possible open them up in Photoshop and use the color picker to pick out shades of color and save them as samples. I just did this quick with a picture I got on the net and selected some color examples. As you can see its blond hair but most of the colors are almost all flesh tones.

You can do this with anything really to try and figure out colors to use.

Darth, I saw her in the case at GD. The photo does not do her skintones justice nor the sword for that matter).

Meh, I\'m not gonna get worked up about it. 6.5 to me is pretty brutal, but I gave up trying to figure out scores here a long time ago.

I appreciate the input, folks. :)

It\'s worth noting that you have a 7.2 from registered voters. The opinion of peopel who take the time to join CMON means a lot more to me then the random voter who can\'t even bother to register.

I like what you\'ve achieved with this model - the armour and the cloak in particular. I think your score may be affected by a couple of things. Firstly the base is very simple and I\'m not sure that the mushroom/toadstool really suits the model (LOTR purists are probably thinking it\'s too cartoony). Also, the hands look a bit blocky which is more the fault of the sculpt. Generally speaking you\'ve done really well with it (even the yellow hair ;) )

The over all impression for the mini is pretty good, but I don\'t think it deserves more then 7. Here\'s why:

- base is too simple
- face lacks definition
- scabard isn\'t highlighted/shaded properly
- cloak color is way too bright, it lacks shading, and you can see the brush strocks on it.
- the hands aren\'t well done, you could have defined the finger more considering each finger as you paint. Meaning shading under the finger, highlighting above, ect..

The Nmm looks really nice though, and lights seem to be placed corectly which is always good. :D
