Well I broke into the 7s the other day and with my latest entry (votie thingie) it seems I am able to duplicate my success.

I\'m quite happy to be getting 7s on what I like to consider my \'High Tabletop Standard\'.

Now to start working towards the magic 8s. Any tips as usual will be appreaciated.

Looking good MPJ, thats the cannon from the new warhammer box set, if my memory serves. Very good clean neat work there, great stuff.
To get to the 8\'s and over all you need to do is highlight a bit more, the yellow base might upset some people as well.
Great stuff though, :D
voted 8 as I like them a lot, they\'ve got charactor;)

Thanks so far. :drunk:

It is indeed the Cannon from the new box set. More highlighting, check.

I like to pick a different colour for the bases of each of my armies (OK, I have only 1 army atm, but I used to have a lot more), the \'yellow\' is actually Reaper Pro Paints \'Ruddy Flesh\' which I discovered I had two pots of. Since I\'ll live the rest of my life without ever using up two pots of that stuff I needed to find something to do with it so... bases on new Dwarf Army it was (I tend to agree it\'s not the best base trim, but it\'s definatlly distinctive).

I paint my thumb.
Glad to see it\'s still possible to get decent scores.

I really like the canon, spotless metallics all around. Only low point is the dwarfs \'weapons\' that look a bit rough.
Moody little guys, fit for dwarfs. Voted

thats harsh, erik, considering that they are just as good as all the minis in your limited gallery.

nice work mpj, very clean with excellent color selection and metallics (the silver on the caliper thing looks a bit rough). beards look good too.

ok, so your comparing those to mine, very diplomatic of you, considering that I havent even voted on my own models

And btw, if you thinks so, then your free to think so, its just interesting to know how you compare my models to his, just give me a few examples of those and of my shaggoth (multiple pic one), what makes them both getting 7:s

and no, Im not frustrated Im just interested

well, judging by the score, everyone else seems to think they are comparable too....;)

im not slinging mud at your minis, i just think these are better than a 6.

if you want to preply on this, please email or PM me (I dont wanna fill this thread with nonsense).

A six is TT+ quality as I see it, right? and TT is, well, hard to define, but for me, its the right color at the right place, no thick coats and some highlighting

TT+ (for me) includes all the above + Basing and even more highlighting, which these have. For a 7, more than just neat highlighting and basing is required, and I dont see that little extra on these models (no offence, they are indeed neatly painted), and as such, I can\'t see how they can score 7:s, sorry

I wasn\'t offended by any comments here, didn\'t mean for a flare up, I was just pleased to be in the 7s. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I like hearing them.

It is interesting to note however that a few hours ago I was at 7.2 with 75 votes. In just a few hours It\'s dropped to 6.7 with 85 votes. Unless I miss my math that means the last 10 votes averaged 2.95. Not wanting to come off as whining but it clearly isn\'t a 3 and I\'m thinking someone is taking out frustrations.

thats just... evil, ´been there me to, (not on coolminiornot though) and it\'s just not funny, if you dont like a model, do what I do, vote what u think it should have and then leave it, for the one who downvoted it, do it better yourself instead, thats just not funny.

EDIT:

I just saw it popped up to 7.5 with 90 votes, must mean someone decided to add ju a good deals of 10:s to.

personally I would get rid of the yellowy trim to the bases..
It just draws too much attention away from the models.
A little more work on the bases will help. Bit of texture little rocks..grass etc.

overall great looking work.
