Went to see Transformers today at the cinema, it was awesumm!!
Yay that was good and THEN it got better, i got home and at about half 9 in the evening ordered the Military Vallejo Set. Including 72 paints, 3 brushes and 2 other bottles of...something...maybe. O well, anyway, EXCITED!!
Found a good deal saved about 20 squids and i am going 50/50 with my parents, soooo, its all GOOD!!:D
Now you can tell me how good they are and why i should be even more excited.....yay!

As one or two of you may have noticed i am mildy excited about the whole affair.:D:beer::beer::beer::drunk::drunk::drunk:
HA!!

Also just remembered i bought a Death Rider today, one of the new ForgeWorld figs, and o my days it is absolutely fantastic!! The level of detail is outstanding and i didn\'t have to wait for it. My local store is Warhammer World, yes i am so lucky, and there was a box of them that i could choose from so, yay again.:flip:

ANOTHER edit: Finally, my friend came this morning brandishing my GamesDay ticket avec figure so, well....i\'m lost for words..lol

Glad someone had a good day. Me? I was stuck at the government offices getting car tags and driver\'s license. Put us a day behind on getting another room stripped of popcorn and painted. We\'ll be hard pressed to finish now before Sunday night.

And I really wanted to get started on organizing my new paint corner.

Anyway, cheers to you!

Nice, Gobbo. When you say you got to choose your figure, do you mean, you could get to pick out which one had the least number of flash and pits? That would be nice.

Yeah thats exactly what happens, i was so happy!! The guy said he would \"just go and get a box of them\", to which i thought, hmmm some painted ones, cool....but no better still, he came with a box with all but 1 rider, the grenadiers and some elysian drop troopers. I realised how amazing the new ForgeWorld stuff is.

Do Vallejos cover better than GW\'s paint or is it much the same. Could you tell me any other adv.s and disadv.s with them against say GW\'s paints or in general. Other than of course their range being about 1000 times larger.
Athankyoo!!

Well, I\'ve never used them but I understand that they have more of a matte finish, rather than the the slightly more satin finish of GW.

You will develop Muscles in the forearm of your primary use arm from all the shaking you will need to do. Vallejo do need greater aggitation than GW\'s paints but it\'s only a minor point for me.
I find that I use less paint (Therefore waste less) when using the dropper botles and the dilution factors are much easier to control. So I\'m ending up with several layers of smooth paint and less Granularity occuring.
Mixing is easier too.
One thing I\'d suggest (I hesitate to say recommend) is that you try adding Matte Medium to the darkest of colours you are usi.g as a base coat, to me it seems to give a greater depth for the shadows and the subsequent highlights work nicely.

heres a question to anyone else

do you split your gw paints in half and dilute them with water. i almost always add the paint i just buy and mix it with the same amount of water. i find that gw paints work the best that way.

just a question

Well, I haven\'t got any spare pots, so I haven\'t done that. May try it at some point, though I\'ll probably have to use distilled water as we have hard water here.

No i don\'t, i just dilute it on the pallete.
It\'s easier for mixing and if i need to drybrush. Also like Mr Bunting up there...i don\'t have enough pots...:(
Might give it a go, although my only fear would be that the paints don\'t keep watery and I just get mess.
Hoo knows?:D

I must admit I just used the paint out of the pot (cringe), but a few years back I couldn\'t get to a shop so just added water to a particularly thick skull white & have been thinning my paints ever since.

I normally give my son one pot & I have the other :)
