Well as Vol. 1 was getting a bit big and as I actually finished something I thought it would be a good time to start up Vol. 2 of my WIP log.

Let\'s start with something a bit out of the ordinary. Here are some pictures but I\'m not going to tell you what the finished article is going to be.

Just an Ork head with a bit of plastic tube? But wait there\'s more:

It\'s an ork with a can on his head! lol Cool idea, I like \'em.

The back view is stunning. I have never seen such detail sculpted in this scale. All those little windows must have been really tough to make! :D

Well it\'s been bloody ages since I posted any WIPs. I\'ve been mostly army painting and haven\'t had anything worth showing off until now. Army painting really hasn\'t been improving my skills at all, if anything it\'s made me get a bit sloppy. To that end I\'ve entere not one but four competitions/challenges spread over CMoN, Platoon Britannica and WaMP in an effort to get myself up to scratch again and see if I can\'t push my boundaries a little. If nothing else, painting to a deadline will help me to get a bit of impetus behind my brushes.

Here\'s part of one of my entries:

Anyone got any ideas on what colour to do his cuffs? DarkLord suggested green but I\'m slightly leery of introducing too many colours into the mix. What do people think? Otherwise any general comments would be appreciated.

Cheers :D

Turqoise maybe? Greenish blue.. or blueish green.

If you use GW paints, then try hawk turqoise, with a shade of that purple you used on the mini. and then highlight by adding some of that pinkish colour?

That should help blend the model together nicely. maybe.. :D

it has shades of pruple, so i would recommend using bleached bone with a bit more yellow added into it.

thats what i would do atleast.

bone coloured was going to be my first choice but I thought it would blend in with his skin. Especially with the hands being so close to the face. I think that whatever colour I do the cuffs will be the samr colour that I use on the belt and garter thing. I was considering red but I don\'t want to bollix it up as I\'m a bit shaky with reds, not being able to see them properly.

Well, I finished it :D

Here\'s my entry for the WaMP monthly competition, the theme being: \"The colour purple.\"

My piece is a study in frustrated poetry entitled:

NOTHING RHYMES WITH PURPLE!!! :cussing:

This is my first time participating in an online competition and I hope he does well. I need to take another photo as the head area seems a bit out of focus, the lens probably needs cleaning.

I\'ve got exactly what I wanted out of this competition, it\'s forced me to improve my painting techniques. The purple on the hose is possibly the smoothest thing I\'ve ever done. There are still a few tweaks left to make. The rat looks a bit out of place, I think I\'ll move him further under the desk. The metals on the bucket haven\'t come out well either, they need strengthening, but other than that I\'m very pleased with how it\'s turned out.

Comments and criticism ae welcomed as always, ta.

Hmm I haven\'t put anything on here for ages... time for a project methinks.

I picked up a Hasslefree Shetland at Salute and I\'m intending to turn it into a little display piece in the style of a Thelwell cartoon for my Mrs\' birthday.
