Well seeing as I was demoted to page 2 again I thought it was time for an update.

This week I ar been mostly paintin\' Ogre

DSC01174.jpg

He has his arms back and I\'ve started on his left boot, right sleeve and the anchor.
I\'m not entirely convinced by the anchor as I was after a kind of rusty effect but after the last wash I can\'t see any red in it at all any more (not that I could see much to begin with mind  )

Also I need ideas for what to do with the humungous feather in his hat. Preferably steering clear of too much red.....

Well I am going to paint my feather like a Peacock, seeing as if I nicked your tattoo compass idea, I suppose its only fair you nick the peacock if you want it!

Got them bits for you too, are you in town at about 2pmish today (tuesday?)

Hmmmmm it\'s not really peacock feather shaped... besides as you\'re shamelessly nicking off with my ideas we wouldn\'t want them to look too similar would we :p

Looks ostrich feather-y to me (ie. HUGE)

The skin is excellent on him, although I\'dv faded that tat a bit - it looks BRAND new, and without the skin reddening around it it looks a bit odd - like biro :)

Priest/Knights are coming along :)

I can\'t believe someone complained about you using the union FLAG (not Jack :p)
They are based on our old army, so wtf not.

It\'s not like someone gave the DKoK the appropriate flag is it? (I won\'t even go there)

You can still call it Jack even though it isn\'t on a Ships bow as there is no 100% evidence that that\'s why it\'s called Jack in the first place (it may be something to do with James 1). It\'s been officially recognised as the Union Jack or Flag so :p:p

Besides at least I got it the right way up

Any ideas on tat fading I haven\'t a clue and I don\'t want to ruin the mini

yeah, just go over it with a few VERY thin glazes the same as the skin colour.

With it being so thin you should be able to control the fading and as it\'ll be the same colour as the surrounding skin, you don\'t have to worry to much about bleeding.

Well I haven\'t posted anything on here for ages because I\'ve been busy with tons of junk that doesn\'t really deserve showing off (at least not yet). I thought I\'d put up pics of a few of the things I\'ve been doing as it might get me inspired to do some more work on them.

First up a Death Guard rhino that I\'m trying to make look a bit retro, hence the grab rails and split front armour. I need another two or three of these so I\'m going to add other elements of the old rhino design in to tthe others like the radiator grilles on the sides and cylindrical smoke stacks.

As Codex Orks is out soon I thought I\'d revisit the abandoned bits that I\'d done for a previous army.

These Barrel boyz will be used as an Ard boyz mob. The cyclone rokkit launcher will have some cabley gubbins going to a big plunger in his left hand. The Nob will hopefully end up having a bigger iron gob and a huge offisaz cap bolted to his barrel.

Last up, Kernul Krood and his Offisaz mob. Kommisar Grotski has been lying arround for ages with no one to boss him about so it\'s about time I got round to doing something with the old Kernul

DSC01223.jpg

The backstory is that when a Bloodaxe Warboss was fighting on Armageddon his mobs of trukk boyz over-ran an Imperial listening post. After a substantial kickin\' one of da oomies was made to translate the data files they had on the Orks. From this the Warboss learned that Ork tactics were incredibly crude. As he was a self proclaimed master of Orky tactics the warboss imediately renamed himself Kernul Krood and has been leading his mob of Steel Eejits ever since.

Heh, I love those barrel boyz. lol

As for more retro rhinos...I happen to have 3 of the old ones. I won\'t be using them. There is glue seeping out of the joints and they\'re basically a mess (one is partly painted); but they may do for spare parts if you want them. I\'ll even throw in the old tank commander (well, he is glued on to one of them).

Right then more Orkses

First up, I\'ve started painting the Kernul

DSC01226.jpg

I\'m not sure what to do with his metal mitten. I originaly painted the gun glove on his right grey to match the armour but it looked too bright, then I did it like it is on the pic but it\'s too dull. I\'ve tried checks and dags but along with the hazard stripes it makes him look like a poncy harlequin lol ATM I\'ve done a thin line of checks round the outside edge but I\'m not really happy with it. I\'ll wait till I\'ve done more on him to see if I can pull it together.

Finally got round to assembling the Ardboss for the unit of Barrel Boyz complete wiv ooge bolt-on offisaz cap

More to come in a min when I get some more pics uploaded

This one is going to be a bit of a step by step as I had the foresight to take a few pics as I was going.

I needed a Master Belial for my Deathwing army but the current termy captain is now a bit small compared to the new plastics. We can\'t have a midget in charge so....

DSC01077.jpg

The first thing I did was to amputate both of his legs and lengthen them with brass rod

DSC01078.jpg

Next I filled in the gaps and roughly sculpted the shape of the armour which will go underneath the robes.

DSC01110.jpg

Then I started extending the bottom of his tabard into robes. There\'s a kinky slit up the right side with buttons. As he has the vents on the rear of his armour I couldn\'t extend the robed above his belt so he\'s ended up in a slinky backless number. I think he can pull it off, he is a Dark Angel after all lol

Then I came to a quandry, what to put on the top? I had intended to put a banner there but I went off that idea as none of the other Termy characters really have them. I really didn\'t like the wheel of fortune thing he has going on in the Codex so I tried an iron halo but it looked boring. Then I tried the helmet wings from the vets sprue but it made him look like a demented cherub. I think I\'ve hit upon a possible solution and I\'m waiting for the part to materialise. It ought to be interesting and hopefully pretty unique

Love the Pretorians. There\'s a popular line GW messed up. What did you use for the carriages on the heavy bolter and lascannons?
