Flippin sweetness!!!

Undave, I think you can feel safe knowing that you have created something that is made of pure awesome and sweet with a hard candy shell.

I had intended to sculpt the fingers on to Mr. Zappy\'s right hand myself but while I was rumaging through a big box of Orcs this afternoon I came across a broken arrerboy and realised that it\'s hand was perfect and would save me the GS.

DSC01266.jpg

As I was sticking it all back together again I had a further flash of inspiration. What if I turned the hand round and made it into a two fingered salute?

I\'m now torn as to which way round to put it. Do I go pokey fingers or insulting fingers?

And here\'s something else I\'ve been working on: Ork Biker Nob!

The bike it\'s self is the Golg the Terrible model from Ramshackle games. The resin they use is by their own admission a bit crap but it certainly is cheap. The detail is fine and crisp but the resin is rather brittle which makes working with it a bit tricky. I have to add that Ramshackle have fantastic customer service. When I emailed to ask about the relative size of Golg and explained what I was intending to do, Curtis not only offered to try and cast me one up specially without the buzz saw arm but he also sent me an intact model completely free in case I ballsed it up! What a star :D

Without further ado here are some pics of what I\'ve done so far. I dremmeled out the space left by the removal of the arm and flattened it off so I could mount a dakkagun later on. Golgs stubby little head came off and was replaced by an Ork Nobs head from the bikers set. The right arm was removed from the handle bars, unfortunately taking a huge chunk of the dash with it. Thank fully it was a clean break so I\'ve managed to re-attach it. The left arm was also added.

All it needs now is a bit of filling on the body and the dakkagun fixing on the left hand side under his arm.

Kind of hard to see that big lump of resin going to be a cool bike ;) really looking forward to seeing the result.
And by the way - insulting fingers (no matter how he fared, he should be the one you choose and but infront of your opponent as Man of the match, when you win a game)

After my big computer change round I\'ve sorted out the image software and I can post pics again :flip:

I\'ve finished the sculpting on Belial and he\'s now at the painting stage. The robes are going up to white and the lion will be a tan colour which will hopefully look good with the bone of the armour.

Also in the paintworks is the Deathwing venerable dreadnought. He hasn\'t got a name yet, I might put it on one of the scrolls if I can think of a suitable one.

DSC01330.jpg

And here\'s his ride.

DSC01339.jpg

Next we have some more orks. The trukk has several resin bits added from Ramshackle Games. The track sections fit perfectly in place of the wheels with no trimming or extra preparation whatsoever, fantastic :D

better pics of Orkira now that I\'ve started painting him. You can get a better idea of the details on him instead of it looking like a big speckled lump.

DSC01334.jpg

Finally the wierdboy is just about done. All he needs is a pair of epaulettes and some gubbinz adding to his staff.

I went with pointy fingers in the end as the rude gesture didn\'t seem quite right with the thumb sticking out. The idea is filed away for future reference though so it may pop up in later projects.

As always comments are appreciated as they tend to give me the inspiration to continue with stuff. Cheers guys :D

Wow!

That is some fantastic undercoating on Belial, so smooth!:D

Looking good mate, love that bike and the paint certainly helps pick out the details.

I think I will reserve judgement on the trukk until I see that sprayed as the resin sticks out like a sore thumb ATM, (however, I did think the same about the bike pre paint so...)

I\'m glad it\'s not just me that thinks the resin looks like sugar lol

And if anyone wonders what OD is on about, he undercoated it for me in GW. Apparently if I enter it into Golden Demon and win anything (yeah right  ) he\'s going to grass me up claiming that it\'s not all my own work so I get disqualified. Cheeky git!

Hi, I just found your tread today and you got some really cool projects in the making.
I like those preatorians and your Orks are very nice, especially the barrel boys.^^
Now I see why you suggested using the ramshackle parts.
Do you mind if I steal the design for that killer Wagh Bike...? :D

Happy Birthday

Just a little something that popped into my head whilst I was fiddling about with some of the free gubbinz that I got from Ramshackle.

My version of a DoW wartrakk like this one

dawnofwar

All I need to do now is find the rider a head, make a jaw/ram from plasticard and fit the exhaust pipes to the back. It was very easy to assemble just using the resin parts, a rhino door and a few spare parts from the Ork Boyz sprue. I think I\'ll order some more of the resin parts and make a step by step article.

Going from parts on the sprue to having some paint on it in the same day is almost unheard of for me

I\'m rather pleased with the way this all went together. I can see a couple of squadrons of these guys on their way into my Ork army. Next time I\'ll be sure to take some photos as I go along for use in a how to article. Better get back to painting him.

VROOOOOOOOOOMMMMM :D
