I think he doesn\'t like the way I paint, as his rating are 1-1.5 points lower than the rating... and he has no mini posted here, so I can presume 1)he\'s an art critical 2)he\'s a too good painter to show us some

btw, my mini\'s rating fell very very quickly in last weeks

To be honest if its only 1 point lower than average and he is willing to give you a comment I would not really see that as sniping, I often vote lower than the average as some styles I just dont like (for me I dont really like the bright cheerfull style of people like bobby wong)

Yeah, I have to agree there. If someone breaks the general trend just by a point or two and makes a worth while comment, you can\'t put it down to a personal vendetta. I recently left comments on a few minis and my ratings were at least one point lower than the everyone else who commented. You have to bear in mind that sometimes people over rate minis (for whatever reason)!

well, maybe he simply doesn\'t like my painting style! i guess that for every low vote with a comment there are several ones without, aren\'t they?

er... you do know its possible to leave a comment with a certain score and then vote a totally different score?

I\'ve done this before in an anti sniping way, when I think a mini is being harshly underscored I\'ll comment with the score I think its worth, then give em an extra point in the vote.

Its possible that whoever is snipping you has the current score hidden. I do that so I don\'t get infulenced by the average score. I feel that I am then able to judge a mini based upon what I think it should be scored as oposed to what everybody else thinks. I notice that for the most part I am either higher by a point or lower by a point.

Mmh, just because someone has no miniatures posted doesn\'t mean their opinion is of no value.
I checked the comments and it seems the guy\'s just a harsh critic. If I see a mini that has all 10s and 9s in the comments but I think it\'s an 8 I post a comment to let the painter know that I have a completely different opinion about their work. Same goes if it\'s the other way round and I have a feeling the rating should be higher.
So I don\'t reckon he\'s a sniper. No need to get uptight.

Good point about the no posts/opinion thing Gypsy. I come across that in my other passion, powerlifting, all the time. People will say \"If you can\'t lift the same weight so and so can, who are you to criticize...\" Anyway, I think what bothers me about people who behave like this guy with no figures posted is that they come across as just trying to stir up trouble, or they think they are somehow amusing. But maybe he is just a harsh critic, but when he is so far off what everyone else rates so often it makes you wonder what his criteria are.

I have been getting rated down recently, now I know my pictures are not the best quality (something I am currently working on) but even so I rate myself as slightly above average.
I posted three new pics this week and for me they were the best pics yet and overnight my minis crashed from the starting vote that I rated them at (7) to 4.7ish I cannot remember now the excact level. Now these minis had only had three votes a piece and one of those was mini. Fortunately they recovered during the day. Thanks for the vote and the comment on my chaos mini Louis.
I like most of you don\'t take that much notice of the scores but that was taking the pee just a little I don\'t mind if there is a comment left telling me why they think my mini is crap as then I can do something about it next time.
Anyway to all fair voters out there thank you and to all the snipers who have nothing better to do well it\'s time you grew up.
