Allthough I love the sculpt I was strangely uninspired when painting the mini, so cant say I´m that pleased with the result...

I like it, but the skin could probably be worked up a bit more in places. But I still like it. Intersting base that I haven\'t qute seen before that I think also could be brightened a bit. I think I will steal your base tech in the near future.

Thanks I agree it could have benefitted from further highlighting/contrasts, but I hit the deadline, and I had just soured on the mini after discovering what a pain it was to paint because I glued it together before painting.

- regarding that base I have to admit that I stole at least parts of it from Jakob Nielsen. He has a REALLY good tutorial on his website www.jrn-works.com (look under the blog entry for feb. 6 ´09).

@ngall001: the vine is etched brass that I got from Hasslefree (here), but I think it´s sold numerous other places as well. It´s pretty good, but I have to say that the vines don´t work quite as well in real life as I thought they would. The other plants I have on the base are far better!

Really nice! The skin has been highlighted subtly for realist effect. I too favour mild highlights!

All I can say is in areas it looks like you didnt water the paint down enough
