The Brother speaks of a competiton for sci-fi and fantasy miniatures.

Not one run by a single company
Not one where they play second fiddle to military miniatures
Not one where they play second fiddle to games
Not one where it\'s gold silver bronze only.

But where it\'s a celebration of this side of the hobby, showcasing the immense talent of contributers to sites like this. Where awards are for attaining a standard of excellence.
Where novices get recognised for their hard work too.
Where miniatures from ALL manufacturers can be entered along side one another.

Where will it take place?
Who will organise it?
When will it take place?

no idea whatsoever. :D

but it\'s something we could aspire too, discuss, throw ideas about.

thats pretty much it

:innocent: but I have seen the light too!

well i have to say it is possible.

if a company is needed to back this i might have a contender. but where would it be held? CMON have such diversity in nations, people from all over the world would gather for this, but i dont think everyone can afford travelling thousands of miles for it.

set a date, a country and a location, i`ll rally the swedes.

That\'s the spirit skarecrow!

Of course nothing could happen quickly, and you hit the nail on the head - sponsorship. But obviously not a single one because that would defeat the object.

Where to hold the thing. Options would depend upon from where the bulk of those interested would come from.
Same location each year?
Tour it round?

some funding could potentially come from the auctioning of figures.

It\'s a beast of a subject, and well beyond the scope of a thread here, but it\'s a good idea to throw some ideas around.

cheers for that Cedric -

I obviously had seen that before and it completely slipped my mind. And exactly what we\'re after:

Brother Vincenti! Are your prayers answered?

My probs with this are pure timing!!!
One week before Euro-Militaire (that may well have fantasy/sci-fi categories in this year)
2 or 3 weeks before the UK GD!!!

I guess it\'s timed not to clash with any French shows?

But a brilliant intiative!

I hope the advertising will get beyond the French speaking forums and sites to try to make this truly International.

It\'s the perfect type of show ; an OPEN!!!

And Ravage are at least not biased as far as I\'m aware.

Actually, it\'s held in the \"Monde du Jeu\" which is a kind of games and toys convention. So it should drain at least a lot of people.

I thought Euro-Militaire and the UK GD were in a fairly close time span to this event, but i guess they couldn\'t pass the chance to get such a big presentation hall.

Orb

so if there\'s a convention on, accommodation may be at a premium. It would be good if Ravage could organise some block booking in a hotel for travelling entrants............would make it more appealling!

And to anyone who\'s only ever attended a one day GamesDay type event, a weekend bash is a superb way to have fun, chill and meet loads of people and make new friends. Much much better than a rushed 6 hour show
