Avicenna - your new sig made me laugh :D Very clever and very cool. I love Dune....read all the books :eek: Kinda difficult towards the last couple, but I did it. Just bought the new remastered version a few weeks ago - ahhhhhh - DTS 5.1 :D :D :D :D *shudder* Oooohh!!

David Lynch isn\'t for everyone - don\'t think many of his films are liked. Blue Velvet was stunning....

I\'d like to see the Directors Cut of Dune - it\'s supposed to be well over 4 hours...

Check out this site - it\'s great! Fear is the mind killer :D

Dunno whether I\'ve got taste but....

I didn\'t mind them too much. If you put them with the film, you will get most of the book! Some of the pronunciations annoy me (aaaaarrrrrrrrtreides) but in general they aren\'t too bad. I enjoyed children of dune (sort of a squashed dune messiah/children of dune), but they should have at least left the children to be 12 not 18!

As to the books, I actually love all of them, particularly as they get to heretics and chapter house dune. I found the prequels alot harder going, as I flt like there were alot of discrepancies and things I never really imagined (Helen Mohiam as Jessica\'s mum and giving the Baron the Lurgie?)

You have an attention to detail that elludes me....

I enjoyed the original trilogy massively...particularly the first (You can never forget the first of anything;) ).

The subsequent books I struggled with a bit. Still excellent, but I kept thinking I was missing the point???

I have bought the new ones, by his successors, but haven\'t found the time yet...

Helen, Jessica\'s Mother? That one slipped by me...:duh:

The Helen / Jessica thing was brought up in one of the prequels, and was something I didn\'t personally agree with.

Saying that the best prequel book is the butlerian jihad

As to the last three books, I luv em! The attention to detail in them is fantastic, even with the huge break between books 4 and 5. I love how the universe evolves.

Finn - I have Dune and Children of Dune TV Series. As Fizl says, some of the pronounciations grind on you a bit, but for me that was mainly because I have watched \'Dune\' the movie so many times, it\'s become my bible and if they don\'t say it like they do, then it ain\'t right :D

I really liked Children of Dune - it was so nice to move on from where the film left off and the acting/effects etc are quite good.

Gosh all this talk of Dune makes me want to watch it again lol Hmmmm...I do have that nice remastered version still to watch ;)
