To be clear, I\'m not one of the ones that had a really hard time (pun) with the half naked chicks and breast-feeding Grandads that appear at the top of the screen every time I view a page. Having said that, they\'re becoming more and more tedious as time goes on. I\'ll never start a complaint thread, they don\'t annoy me enough, but I will very often add my view to the numerous \"Porn banner\" threads that pop up each month. That\'s what I mean by sanctioned.
As for the hardcore porn spam, well, it\'s a slightly different matter I know, But Jeff specifically referenced how \"everyone gripes about porn ads\", which I assume are the afforementioned bi-monthly \"How come cmon is now a soft porn peddlar? ??? \" threads that we see.

I want everyone to understand I don\'t support or approve of the porn add being placed in out forum or in the banner adds. I just found it amusing that for a subject matter everyone seems to hate that in less than 5 minutes of being posted by our favorite porn peddler Natalyawonderr 30 plus people had clicked on the post. Yes I know its to report it, but 30 people don\'t need to report it.. ones enough.. post a quick thread under it.. posting reported.. Just don\'t keep looking at it.
I do wish there was a simple way to stop this, could be done easy enough with membership approval. Im on forums where the registrant needs to prove they have a reason to be there..a quick sentence about how they are involved with the hobby should do it. moderated first few posts would do it to. Many forums place the new member on moderated first few posts.. keeps the spammers and \"Bots\" from making posts like this.
There just has to be a simple way to stop this, we just need to get CA to care enough to do it.

I agree....I think there should be a randomly changing question that could only be answered by a human to become a member of the board.
My understanding is that the SPAMBOTS are designed to just find the Boards that have easy sign up. Once they are a member, the script just posts away.
I ban them, but it does no good. The only way they are stopped is if the system logs them out...which is obviously not happening.
Anyhow, like I\'ve said before, I can only react to them, but being a moderator here has turned from a enjoyable task to a increasingly tedious and disturbing one.
