remember the forum challenging people to find the lowest ranking GD finalist? the lowest I could find was mine! The shame, the shame!:( any helpful (i.e constructive) comments would really help.

I think the problem is the picture.
1. It\'s blurry / not focused
2. The picture is too big, I would scale it down.
3. Take some picturs from different angles

Definitely the picture, I had to focus real hard to make out the real thing behind the blur...
The blur makes it look like it\'s very unstable, undefined and unneat.
Voter overlook a pic like that and vote it low.

As is stated, the picture isn\'t doing you any favors.

Overall I like the mini and the chains complement it well. I think you did a good job with the red flesh tones. It looks like the transition from dark to light on the horns and claws is a bit harsh. You could try more transitional layers, or else start by painting them your favorite off-white color(say bleached bone) and then use glazes of dark brown to darken the base, covering a smaller and smaller area as you move towards the base. Looks like the skulls/bones in his belt could use some shading. I think a wash of thinned brown ink would help separate the links in the chain a little better. If you were going for a lava effect on the base, I think brown/grey rock would work better than the green. Hopefully this is helpful.

I think at it\'s current rating of 4.8 it is definitely underrated. I am glad that you are proud of this mini as you should be.
