Your Favorite Bronze?

Hey all,
I\'m painting a unit of 6 for competition and am trying to decide whether to go NMM or metallics. I\'d like to use metallics but have not really seen any examples of a bronze that is well done. Do you have any in your favorites lists or perhaps a model that you have painted yourself that used bronze metallics and looked great? Please post a link if you do. :)
Thanks! :beer:

Thanks for the link, Mike, that is going into my favorites folder for sure.

Actually though I was looking for examples of metallic bronze, painted with metallic paints. I\'m pretty sure I can pull of an NMM, but am not sure I want to do it on 6 different models, or if I can finish it in the next 3 weeks--I\'m a slow painter in general. It would probably take me 6 hours or so per model to do NMM. It would be good for my skills to do it NMM, but it also might make me go crazy with the tedium of doing the same thing over and over again...

Well here\'s a lovely bronze look that combines both methods........may be a little involved for what you\'re after, but I thought I\'d share it;

It\'s a 54mm helmet by the talented Venezuelan artist Ernesto Reyes

\"the helmet was paint in acrylics with a mixture of ENGLISH UNIFORM + ORANGE BROWN + GOLD BROWN + BLACK + WOODGRAIN Lights ORANGE BROWN + ENGLISH UNIFORM Next GOLD BROWN And final lights a little of gold printer ink. Shadows BLACK BROWN + BLACK...\"

These are VMC colours, and the printers ink can be replaced by normal acrylics......

the full ongoing SBS is here;

It may give you some ideas

no problem!!!

Here\'s another thread over on Planet Figure from Ernesto of a rather super Viking (90mm, but definately worth sharing);

Later I\'ll post some reference photos I\'ve taken of chainmail and armour worn by re-enactors; very useful, as the chainmail shows quite noticable rust
