Your favorite dragon miniatures

I'm on the lookout for something big and imposing but more importantly fun to paint. Any crowd favorites out there I may not have seen before?

Well, what have you seen before?

There's all the usual suspects: Rackham Titan Dragon, Heresy Dragon, Ultraforge Dragon, FW Carmine and Fire Dragons, the Reaper Dragons, etc.

Maybe it'd be easier if you'd just list what you have seen, and the community could assist in plugging the gaps?

Alright so that Heresy dragon is pretty tight, from what I can read of it though it still hasn't seen production.

No, the Heresy Dragon is currently in production. There's an awfully long waiting list, though ...

If you can find it, the old Chainmail D&D Black Dragon is quite nice. It's made from heavy duty metal, though, and weighs an absolute ton.

There's the OOP Oracle Dragon from Magnificent Egos - supposed to be 2 feet in height thanks to its wingspan (wing height?). This one is in the CMON store: http://www.coolminiornot.com/shop/m...res/viszeralyn-the-oracle-greater-dragon.html.

There's also the Forgeworld suspects - the new Carmine Dragon, the older Fire Dragon, and the 2-headed Chaos Dragon.

Edit:
Darksword Miniatures even has one now, and it's in the CMON store: http://www.coolminiornot.com/shop/m...fantasy-large-black-dragon-all-metal-kit.html. It's actually very similar to the Chainmail Black Dragon.

Dragons are buggers to find a good one ain't they eh. All too often there's something wrong about them, too human-like in their proportions, too this or that, and most commonly that the wings look like tacked on additions the way they attach to the body by a small and weak shoulder-like join without the wing membrane connecting to the body.
I got the big Heresy beast on order, though gawd knows where I am in the queue. Still have an old favourite to slap some paint on, that old Dragonmasters Dragon.

Well, I'm rather biased towards this fellow - http://www.coolminiornot.com/222153

Yeah, I'm liking that too:D

Reminds me a bit of the clockwork chicken from the Klangers...

Am I the only one on the planet that doesn't like steampunk...

WHOA...Deja Vu!

Some of my favorite 'dragon' miniatures are actually those cheap-o ones you can find in a convenience store from time to time.

Some are actually pretty well done (if you can get past the gaudy colors), and you can turn them into something cool. I guess they are my favorite because they are cheap, cheap cheap! (did I mention cheap?)

No, but you're probably the only one who likes everyone else to know;)
lol ouch!

i think the new fw one, rackham titan and the heresy one are top. that said the old chicken dragon was uber cool but more of a collectors item than something practical now

Nick Bibby's Great Spined Dragon for Citadel (c. 1988)...

...if I had one of those I might even finish painting a larger mini! :D

I was really keen on getting that Rackham titan dragon, I already have the smaller one, but after a lot of investigation and coming close to lashing out a very large wad of cash I decided it was an ugly great lump of resin:D

Actually, they have several listed in the CMON store including this one which originally was a Ral Partha kit (i think). http://www.coolminiornot.com/shop/m...works/elmore-dragons-set-3-golden-dragon.html

And, since I've seen the Heresy Dragon, it is by far the closest to my ideal interpretation of a drgaon. there are too many that I see that cause me to say... this doesn't look right, that doesn't look right, wings look wierd, head is too long/short, etc etc. I haven't found anything on the Heresy that looks wrong to me yet.
