Your favorite mini

I had a funny little realization today about my figure collection: I\'ve painted hundreds of figures over the years, and have done some really good and some really bad work, but I have not actually stopped and said \"this is my favorite.\" When I looked, I realized that my favorite was a Garrity Black Legionnaire I painted years ago. I have painted better figures before and since, but something about this figure just makes me happy to look at it.

So here is mine - who else wants to show theirs? It doesn\'t have to be well done, you just need to really enjoy it.

These little buggers I did for Wyrd.. just so m uch character about them .. tried some new stuff with basing and painting brown...just one of those groups that gave me no hassle if you know what I mean..

I looked through my stuff and I came to the conclusion that my favourite pieces were pre-photography when my mate\'s brother used to threaten to burn me with matches if I didn\'t paint his BB Dwarf team (obviously I was a kid back then ). There are elements I like of what\'s in my gallery but nothing yet that I\'ve completed fully and felt very happy with, which is why my gentle return to painting has to be nurtured.

i painted this guy after a longish break off and was my first attempt at using pastels for weathering. i looks better irl

My favourite mini will have to be my Imperial Fists commander. I think it\'s my best work and loved painting it.

my current favourite is a 54mm elf, don\'t have a pic of it yet as i\'m working on it.

i reckon my favourite will change when Vlad finishes the next sculpt.

This one more or less painted itself and everything just came out the way I wanted with seemingly no effort (well, except for some parts of the helmet...). It\'s a great deal of fun painting something bigger like this, because you can create so much more character and personality than with a small mini.

my favorite mini probably has to be the jmd ork bust, unfortunately i havent painted one yet but that should soon change

Still by far the best (and biggest) thing I\'ve done.

But most of the time it is the next mini!

Unless it\'s Ritual\'s bust, I DO like that!

so hard to choose...

whichever is the latest paintjob is my favorite, \'cause it seems that once i look at a mini that\'s a few months old, i don\'t like it anymore...i just see what i could\'ve done better...

this guy is still an all time fave for the conversion work...he\'s 22 pieces from all over(necrons, marines, chaos marines, black library l.e., and inquisitor)...he was built in \'01, and painted at the end of \'02...
the painjob still stands up, as he just made the finals in the open category at games day l.a. in august...

now i just need to improve my photography...

this is my favorite piece of professional work...mostly because so many people seem to have trouble with this scheme, and these guys were done before we had P3 paints, so everything had to be custom mixed...painted in \'04...

Mine\'d probably be the warrior priest or the ork pilot - as both of them were new pieces for me as I\'d mainly painted Imperial 40k before then and they BOTH turned out MUCH better than I expected.

My \'favorite\' minis have been a group of them I painted for a contest once.

Not the best, but never have I so thorougly enjoyed the whole painting process. The characters seemed to really come alive as I worked on them.

Good times.....I wish I could recapture that joy I had at the time.
