It is able to polish metal so it reflects the surrounding.
Metals yes, but when you wield a sword or an axe, you tend to avoid being noticed.

But I do recognise that ceremonial armors and weapons are highly polished and have that chrome effect. They just don\'t seem battle worthy.

People tend to want to put horizon lines everywhere, even in places where there should be none. Also, many seem to over-exaggerate the blueness in the sky reflections and the brownness in the earth reflections. Plus, if you look at real chrome or polished metal, there\'s a complex pattern of reflections in the surfaces, not a single horizon reflection (except in rare cases where the metal have very simple, symmetrical shapes). I generally prefer \'ordinary\' NMM with maybe slight colourations here and there to represent reflections of the surroundings.

My favourite is Neil Hodgsons (nehojo or something like that on cmon) tau battle suit. and I also agree with Anders about the technique.

I always liked this one.
Don\'t know how technically correct it is (and don\'t really care) plus I don\'t know whose it is, I just saved the pic ages ago \'cos I thought it was pretty innovative.

Here\'s a couple of examples of my attempts at the effect;

Bratts

There\'s a couple high points and low points on the attempts at SENMM in those pics, but you asked for examples. ;)

Hey, thanks Dauber, our year of cheap high speed expired, so our internet was down for a while until we could get the 56k back up. :innocent: I\'m in grade 12 now, too, so I\'ve been a bit busy with homework and such....

And, of course, I\'m a lazy bastard who hasn\'t painted anything for nigh-on 6 months, so I haven\'t had much inspiration to visit. :D

@Einion, are you the same Einion that frequents WetCanvas?
