Best tasting chilli ever.
Just make sure you make more sauce than normal as I use 2 jars of Uncle Ben's chilli sauce when I use quorn mince.

Cool, thanks for the tip! I'll be making the chilli from scratch, so will make sure that I have enough liquid, I'm doing it in the slow cooker so will let my girlfriend check it when she arrives on Friday afternoon (she'll get there about half way through the cooking time)

Fond as I am of meat substitutes, nothing beats the flavour (and texture) of meat.

Doing it purely as the better half is on a diet - my freezer is stocked with real mince for when she's not over :D

also if your in the uk tesco are selling tefal pans at discoun, got myself a new 32cm fry pan. its amazing!

Thanks - I'll have to have a rummage, I need a decent non-stick saucepan for cooking fudge and caramel :D

pound or two of ground beef
2 cans black beans, drained
2-3 cans of water
1 mini can of tomato paste
secret spices

my chili is super hearty, thick like pea soup and meaty, lumberjack approved.

London Broil or tri-tip, Some times I cut the tri tip into steaks if it is too big. I chop (finely) up a bunch of fresh garlic (ONLY fresh garlic for this recipe) and rub the meat all over with the garlic. Then I pour a 1/4 cup or so of soy sauce over it. If the meat looks tough I will poke it with a fork a few times. I let it sit for an hour at room temperature like that then throw it on a pre-heated medium heat grill for 10-20 minute or until the center is at 130° F or so. Then I take it off the heat and let it set for 5 minutes and serve sliced.

People go ape shit for this. Super simple! Don't tell anyone. ;) Also it's dang good cold the next day. on a sammich or salad
