Your Metal Mountain.

Casually mentioned in another thread was the size of our 'collections'.

It got me curious to know where I fall in the insanity.

While not all of us mini-lovers are also mini-hoarders, there are enough of the hoarders to prove a trend.

Lets start talking about collection sizes here.

Painted, unpainted, primed, still in the box, hidden beneath the wifes dresser, etc. etc.

Pictures would be nice, but not necessary.

Anyone up to the challenge of cataloging the madness for posteriety sake?

My collection's quite little, about 60-65 painted minis (only completed 5 for the last 6 months) but I've also about 25 unpainted.

Good idea, I was thinking of posting a follow-up thread along those lines myself - given the rule of thumb we often see, that the larger the grey army the smaller the number of finished pieces.

My painted:unpainted ratio is roughly 1:2, a little worse if I include sculpts.

247 painted minis, 10 half-painted minis, ~340 unpainted minis.

All of the unpainted minis are assembled and ready for play (even though I won't use them until they are painted) but I'm still working on completing them.

Only about 1/4 of them are metal. Most are plastic.

Now that Donna and Roger are with me the metal mountain is frightening. I won't even try to guess at it's size and most of Roger's is still in the UK. When all THAT gets here it might just disrupt the turn of the earth and send us into another ice age!

i'm in the club with DR and Valloa...
i have a few thousand unpainted minis, and hundreds of books, spread around in storage between Amsterdam, L.A., and Fairbanks...
there are 6 painted minis in my display case, simply because i haven't sold 'em yet...

i don't game, and never really have...
i've painted hundreds of minis, and haven't kept any of them...
for me it is always the thought of, "man, i would really love to paint this guy someday"...
not to mention that i got almost every mini on a discount or for free, so the mountain just keeps growing...

if i could finish more than one mini a month, i might just make a dent in my pile...
until then, i just "fantasy paint" each mini in my collection when i close my eyes to go to sleep...
very relaxing...

Goodness, let's see: 3 cases with the playing stuff.. times 120 spots, ah the gun case, carry the two, tank case, the stuff under the house. Do the figs that came with games count? And with that, how do you count say 6mm? That copy of Space Marine and Adepts Titanica really bump the numbers up. Stuff in the garage, minus the Wednesday, and the scratch build: Okies, I say a thousand is a good start.

Oh they only count if they are painted? then I only have like 100.

If we are counting all miniatures I do believe that I am like everyone else here, numbers are vast...VAST!

I have maybe, ouch when i begin thinking about it I think I have maybe 200, had at least a 100 painted but that was before I became aware of thinning paints and primer so many have been stripped.. I only have maybe 20 painted ones at the moment, and a bunch half way painted! Most of the old plastic stuff from when I was 11 will NEVER be painted.. But, I'll paint the rest of them eventually :-D
