Hey guys, just a random thought:

How about we share our oldest submission to the gallery. It should be a fun way to compare and contrast to see how far we\'ve come.

My oldest? A Salamander sergeant, image #670.

My newest? Arwen, image #183437.

Going from blacklining and a single edge hilight to blending, more confident freehand (obviously not on this mini per se), \"juices\" and toying with zenithal lighting, I\'m pretty happy with the last 7 years\' progress.

Who\'s next?

Biggest difference is probably the photography. I don\'t think my painting has improved in leaps and bounds since then though I can probably get the results with less trouble now.

My newest :

I think I take more time to work on details and composition, but I\'m still struggling with photography.

My oldest submissions are not entered in the order they were painted, and my latest was a quickie and isn\'t my best work, so this won\'t say much about me I\'m afraid :)

And Latest...

Huge change here. Highlighting, shadowing, inks, starting to get the hang of blending/layering. I owe it all to this site!

I only have three submissions, as I\'ve only been painting a short while, and photographing for even less time.

Plus my middle submission is also my best, by the scores.

Really great thread here! Some of you guys really made giant leaps. Leaves me with hope!
I have not many minis uploaded now but here we go.

Standart I was painting before I found CMON:

And just some months later after reading nearly every article on this side and making my first ever entry to a competition:

Still a long way to go. So many techniques to master and even try for the first time...Damn I wish I had more time.

Well and my photography sucks real bad. My camera has no special features, so its always hard work to get some useful photos.

Wow, there\'s some pretty drastic improvements in the thread already :D Of course some of us *cough*SJB*cough* were born with brushes and sculpting tools in our hands, but hey that\'s cool :D

Well, I\'ve not got any submissions yet or pics of any finished minis since returning to the hobby, so I shall just marvel at the improvements made by others for now.
