I haven\'t painted an army in a while, but my technique is waaay different. You have to speed paint if you ever want them done.
I would paint assembly line style, 5-10 at a time. Not much thinning of paint, if at all. Drybrushing and washes if they work, although sometimes those techniques create more problems then they solve; eg washes flow wherever you don\'t want them and you have to shade manually anyway.
I also always used black undercoating as it hides mistakes and saves you time; you can just not paint underneath and behind shields.
Forget careful, subtle blends. Go with broad, contrasting highlights. Those stand out more on crowded game table anyway.
