Youthful Conjurer WIP

This is my first WIP on the forums, and please don\'t be gentle. I\'m actually repainting a miniature I submitted before ( http://www.coolminiornot.com/148075 ), since I\'ve grown unhappy with the result and, IMO, improved.

Anyway, I started with a midnight soak in Simple Green and a warm shower with a toothbrush.

Didn\'t get it all, but that\'s fine. I thought with this attempt, I\'d paint Aaron a bit younger. Similar color scheme, though, as I couldn\'t think of better.

I painted the robe in Enchanted Blue, the effect in Blood Red, the hair and book in Scorched Brown, and the robe midsection (as well as everything on his hips) Skull White. I haven\'t touched his skin, except for painting part of his face white for doing his eyes later. It\'s all very rough work, but that\'s why you don\'t detail first, right?

Now, I know I\'m overall very new to the art, and that\'s why I turn to you all. Any tips, advice?

Sorry dude the picture links don\'t seem to be working.

Which of the addresses from your photobucket did you link with - it should be the second one.

Unless I am totally not seeing it, you really need to prime your model before you paint. You see where tje paint is rubbing off on the blue robe? That is because it really has nothing to hold onto.

Yea i mean its one of the basics, prime the model.

The colours would cover so much better if you had.
