That'S to much work for me. I just throw him back in a box. Until 10 years go by and I say omg thats terrible...let's redo him....throw him in a box for another ten years.
Based. Just some small tweaks and it’s done. Would it be wrong to stay up late finishing it and then call in sick to start the chaos test marine?View attachment 61355View attachment 61356
This is actually a really good sketch tbh. Everything is where it should be and the contrast is absolutely boss. I reckon you should work with that. Kudos for the brass too, white can be an utter ass to work with even at the best of times.
Thanks gang, Yep Canny - I was looking at Roman's recent marines and seeing how much of the environment around them he pulled in. I still have to bring back some colors from the base into it and hit it with pure white reflections and tidy things up but at least screwing around with it totally gives me an idea of how to approach the first strike set. Bam, so far just ivory as the highest color will add white after i clean up some of the contrast and other colors! I think wheni am done i'll take pic of him next to a white sheet of paper and white balance to the paper so you all can get a sense of how not white he is Also my god it got chalky and grainy in places (face and shoulder) ! I totally overworked it at times :laugh:
I don't think it need an ivory colour tbh. You've done very well introducing the brown tones with the blacker tones to transcend to white. Ivory would seem out of place. You have your wheel nailed.
ED: from the black to mid grey/browny tones to white...Less is more. A limited palette can often be the most effective.
Been keeping an eye on this developing via your Instagram account....really nice breadth of colour you have worked up on this so far Zab. Looking really nice
Thanks! It's been fun. For table top i think i can be a bit sloppy and loose with it and it will look more stylized and cartoony. Also will be a bit faster than trying to be super smooth and clean At least now that i know what i am doing with all the experimenting on this min out of the way...
