Thanks all! I actually bent the needle on my renegade yesterday painting the white, so i'll be switching to my 105 for the leather and hair. I think i may just sell my renegade and get a smaller needle and tip for the 105. The difference in spray pattern between the two is so minimal it is't worth the hassle and tip dry from the renegade anymore. I'll have pics up soon. just fighting a stomach bug and tediously masking the white with some liquid mask and tape :(

They are useful for bigger models, but not essential by any means. Most of the heavy lifting on this one will be with the bristles afterwards anyway :)

I'll always remember an old quote from one of my ol' lecturers, 'You can achieve everything with a brush if you have patience', time to bin the extra expense, cheers buddy

I hear ya. Just got the electrical upgraded at the cottage from 60 to 100. Took entry of service off the roof (which caused water damaged when the mast started to rot) and have a buried cable now. Have to fix some studs and flooring in one room where the water damage caused dry rot (thank god it happened in between footings and joists) and then start to gut, drywall, floor and trim 5 bedrooms and a hallway. Its all that old paperboard from the 50s/60s. 800sq Feet o_O I know what i'm doing for the next few summers
-_- The money i save on that will be paid to contractors to redo the kitchen and bath for us (unless we can get on that income property reality show next season). Those will take too long if i try to do them by myself. Then The Lady Inquisitor wants to open up the kitchen and dinning room at home. It's old lap and plaster with genuine plaster crown molding. I am loathe to kill that as it's a dying art over here, but happy wife happy life...

Steampunk Leia is in a bath of simple green being stripped. Unmasking from the AB went horribly wrong. I may have to scrap her and try another mini for the exchange if the simple green undoes all my prep and glue. Oh well, it was good practice. Maybe second time around will be easier? :dont-know: It didn't help that we had massive layoffs this week so my hobby mojo is gone. I still have a job, but morale there is wiped out and I am just exhausted.

Some of that old school plaster work is amazing, yeah doubt you would find anything as good now days. Sounds like a mission you have there better keep the inquisitor happy or you won't get out of those chains. . . .

Gutted about the mojo, never fun my wife is going through lay offs at her work too, stupid thing is they will be back in 3-5 months on contact for more than what they got payed but less job security. Btw its a milliput paste to brush over pock marks. Started doing a scale games viking.

Gah. Layoffs. Horrible when that happens - and an awful time of year for it as well. Have a well-earned break with the missus to recharge. Always makes me eager to get out from under my missus' feet and back to the paints!

Glad you still have a job, but sorry to hear about the issues at work Zab. Not a nice environment to be in.

What went wrong with Steampunk Leia? You were masking certain areas to protect them from the airbrush last I remember.

No, no, do Love it or List it, I actually watch that one.
Sorry about the AB masking problems and the job stuff, I won't be able to paint for a week and half because of traveling so I'll send you all my hobby vibes. That's how it works, right?

Nah, I think Hillary would murder me. Maybe property bros? Yeah Arch, I will be hitting some head hunters and agencies looking to up date my resume and getting more aggressive about finding a new place to work. I love the people and the work, but the big company that does layoffs every single year is bad for the soul. Time to go :( I got really nice blends, but didn't mask properly and some of the fine details held onto the liquid mask too well and the paint pulled up. no big deal. I am still learning when to use what to mask. this one i'll just re-prime and use bigger brushes. No AB on this one. Too many fine details to mask. Best part of this hobby is similar to my job. No one dies and there are no bad days, just revisions and lessons learned :)

EDIT

So far so good. Paint is coming off, just a few gaps to fill, glue holding. May be able to fill minor gaps and re-prime and get back at it in a few days o_O I think i'm going to a whole new direction on this one. Hope Moe doesn't mind if I try new things on his exchange mini, but those usually turn out the best in the end for some reason :)
