So you guys want me to paint some very rare, highly detailed oop Rackham minis along with you? And you'll send one my way? Hmmmm....Yeah. I think I can make time :p Besides those Rackham minis are tiny how long could it take? Let me just get my good ol' No. 2 out...

Progress on the vignette I was working on. Got the figures done and place temporarily to give an idea of the composition. I sculpted little bird skulls to go with the Raven Guard fluff, re-positioned the shot gun barring scuout's leg and actually didn't convert the metal Lictor at all since I liked his pose as it.

It looks like the moment before they pull their triggers and the Lictor strikes, frozen in time. Or as my jarhead friends call it the: "F*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck!" moment. Just need to prime these guys once I get a nice warm day. I usually use Vallejo, but the enamel stuff is tougher on metal and the GW figures are very exaggerated so I don't have to worry about clogging fine detail with the aerosols. It's also time to upgrade The Agent of Chaos's room so her old art work is up for grabs. The Lady Inquisitor is asking her siblings and I'm posting here too:

If anyone wants the old paintings we did they are 18"x18". All acrylic on canvas.

Cheers!

Looks good Zab! One thought I have though is what about putting the lictor up and back a little? Maybe hey could be standing on a fallen column? If he is higher he might look a little more dynamic and moving back might open up the scene a little.

Very cool looking Zab, I like it a lot. I mean the love you put into it is just too cool, oh and your Marine scene is cool too. :p I personally think it would be cool to see the Lictor ready to pounce down from up high, but not sure how to achieve that kind of perspective without some serious remodeling and building. At the end of the day though I think its awesome as is.

Thanks guys! I had planned a massive converting of the Lictor, but he's metal and this one has to travel across the country so it has to be a very solid stable build to survive shipping. If he was finecast I could do some fun stuff, but i refuse to pay for anything in finecast ever again so I had to settle for an eBay special (cleaning him off was... a challenge) :p I'm just happy there's no OSL... yet. Although, now that you mention it Demi there is room in that back corner behind the Lictor for a lamp post to create an ominous backlight and some OSL...no. Must. Resist...

All is quiet here for a bit, kinda nice actually. I just primed the minis and base for the Lictor vignette and I recently got word that Chuckles will be sent shortly and word that my NOVA minis are on their way so my unintentional (but nice) hobby hiatus will be ending with a tsunami of projects! Yay? ~gulp~ In the meantime, I am beginning to list my gaming stuff on eBay slowly. My first test item is here:

If you end up bidding and win it, message me through eBay that you are a fellow C'MONer and I'll throw a second identical set of ruins in the package before I ship it - as a thank you and to speed up the terrain purge ;P

Cheers gang! More soon... :brushwave:

Great dio, but those scouts are dead. Don't give up on the vids, I rather enjoyed it. For some reason I thought you'd have a deeper voice :)

You know it Canny! Moe, They are soooooo dead. In my head I sound like this:

Good news! The NOVA Open Charitable Foundation is holding it's yearly raffle for some great armies. $1 for a ticket and you can help a bunch of great causes! Plus, there are some pretty good lookin' people helping out this year :waving: and there is still time to sign up to help paint the armies being raffled if you feel like donating your time and skills instead of just the moneys!

It begins. Paint to minis. I did the faces first because everything else on the 2 scouts will be pretty similar but the skin tones need to be a bit different as Raven Guard get paler skin and darker eyes the further along their post human enhancement is.

Not a bad start for about 30 min each. Tweaks later, you know how it is ;)

I think I'll initially paint him up as full on but then go back and over paint parts to look as though he is partially camo'd so maybe legs and a bit of his carapace or shoulders. Might be a lighter variant of Kraken to fit with the description from Helion rain.
