Basing continues. It's beach season here so it continues slow, but even on weekends at the cottage there is opportunity for hobby. I pulled some roots and twigs from the garden at home and some stones and a nice coarse sand from the beach. Also found a pretty rock - might make a necklace for the little one since she likes it.

Got a bit more work done on some of the bases. Bone litter on the giant squig base to give him some scale and some texture to the foam and smoothed out the stalagmites and stalactites. Filled and smoothed the stone on the RT base and Demihuman's dwarf base plus secured the dock to the wall. I also sculpted the water around the rocks for Canny's dwarf base.

Stopped by the new location of one of my LGS. They seem to be cutting back on hobby and have more room for gaming. Not sure it was a good idea to tip the scales that way, but I wish them luck. Picked up some paints and a bones mini from the clearance bin for the little one to paint while we we're at the cottage.

Now she wants to paint miniatures like daddy - I won't lie. I'm pretty thrilled. I was really impressed with the minimal prep and decent quality of the bones line so i picked up a few of my favs off ebay. I want to try out James Wappel's techniques ever since I got his KS dvds and these seem like good "learnin minis" what with the grab 'em and paint convenience.
Next up is to take all the sticks and rocks and roots and put em on the squig base. The smoother rocks will go in the stream bed and the roots will get a little trim with the scissors and random broken and stunted trees will be clinging to the cave exterior with some roots. Should be fun.

Hmmm... Actually, that's quite a bit of progress :curl-lip: One thing I need help with: Any one know where I can source some 28-32 mm pylons or construction signs? Maybe a good tutorial for making them?
Cheers!
