Wow! Impressive! I just got inspired, suddenly it sounds like fun to repaint the wife's garden gnome.

Also, I keep chuckling immaturely to myself about Harley's bust. Please tell me I'm not the only one reacting to this. :D

Thanks all! It was hard staying in the lines and getting it done in 30 min o_O And yes, I never thought I'd find myself playing with some creepy clown girl's bust :p Yep, just plain simple acrylic fluro paints and some white and grey - Super thinned and very low PSI :)

I'm not even going to think about looking at airguns until I can paint properly with a brush. For commission work or large armies they must be great. But I just don't get very excited about them.

The learning curve is brutal if self directed. Its a great tool for big kits, terrain, armies, tee shirts, car detailing, nail art etc. I think it's just that you see a lot of AB rush jobs for sale these days but that isn't necessarily down the the artists but their clients. Den of Imagination and Awaken Realms have some stunning stuff in their galleries followed up by a crap ton of very mediocre work, but who can afford a whole army painted to display standards?! Most folks just settle for passing the 3 foot test or even the 3 color minimum. ~sigh~ Gamers, what can you do?

Hehe. There are definitely some amazing airbrush paintjobs out there and the blending when done well is flawlessly beautiful. But I have enough to worry about with getting my brush painting going that I won't be looking into an AB for a while.

Hey hey hey, whats wrong with 3 colors? That was the only way I could play my 40k ork army in tournements. Prime black, skin green, guns and swords boltgun metal. Sometimes I even painted them in the car on the way to the tournaments...

Yeah i only started using the AB for serious about 3 years ago. before that is was just a way to shoot primer indoors in the winter so I could still paint :) Digga, you've seen my tabletop standard. I won't lie I was a terrible general, but damn it my armies looked pretty as they died in their scores!

Lol, my army was one big green mess (which might have a lot to do with why I played orks). I wasn't that great either. My games started with me taking about an hour to set up around 200+ models on the board and ended with me bulldozing them all into my tackle box with my arm to get ready for the next slaughter. Ill admit, I loved the game but it got so stupid, when I would set all my guys up and my opponent would put 11 tanks on the board and just pie plate the entire game.

Gonna use the way of wappel to get it done quick to a TT standard and take some short videos like an SBS for one of our CMON buds :)

Hmm I think the cmon bud is a super lucky guy who will do back flips for this, and will be most greatful for the help.

"The way of wappel"? I is are being so confused.

But that does sound like a good idea to do something for fun - and if you can help out a friend while doing it, all the better. :good: :)

Arch ,James Wappel is an awesome painter who released a series of DVDs showing how he does his work. Its a very fast and loose style. I backed the KS. It was a great alternative to attending seminars which are hard for me to get to. I have adopted his techniques into my own and kind of combined it with what i learned from Fernando Ruiz to finish Table top quality jobs in very little time :)

I shall get my Google-fu on! Seminars are probably never going to come to South Africa, so DVDs, YouTube, articles and of course you guys are my only teachers. Any other painters you'd recommend I look into DVD/tutorial-wise?

@Terrafirma - I'll definitely take a look. May have to add them to my Christmas and birthday wishlists. The exchange rate sucks more than usual at the moment.

@Digga - Not worried really, it is what it is. Who knows, I could become the South African painting expert *snort*. Just slightly jealous regarding the resources, shops etc all you folks in the States, Canada and Europe have relatively easy access too.
