Working from home today. Heard scratching from attic at 2am. Called pest control company. Cheked roof, soffet and attic while waiting - nothing. Vent right above where we heard scratching + windy night = maybe nothing OR Japanese revenge ghost. So long as she keeps it down she's welcome to stay

I basecoat with the middle color. Then sketch in highs and low with the colors on the sides... View attachment 45648

Then i add some scratches and wear with a mix of the darker colors and lines of the pure light color... View attachment 45650
now the washes begin. First GW sepia thin and controlled... View attachment 45651
Then a very heavy uneven wash of SW dark sepia. when it is partially dry i soak it up in places with a damp brush and let it pool in others to get a nice uneven finish. Then i stipple on vallejo sepia in an overlapping random pattern to further the aging. Finally two thin washes of GW argax to tone down all the detail a bit... View attachment 45652

Finally a mix of SC75 wood and violet ink in the deepest reccesses and it's done, maybe. I can always tweak later View attachment 45654
On the next model you could add some wear and tear to the leather.
Simply before the washes with sepia/inktense: with a sponge dab some light color (flayed one or ivory) on the leather.
Thanks gang. Maxx the wear is there it's just not showing up too much because of the glare from the glossy finish - and i kept it to just a few places. I wanted it to look well used, but not abused

Thanks all, very close with Leia now. Just metals and some final touches and she's ready to be mounted. Hmm... that didn't sound right. She's ready to be put on her plinth and sent out. Better.
