Next will be guns, base and then onto the beast itself.
still lots of touch ups and weathering to do, but feels good to be making progress and it's a lot faster than i had thought. thanks god for chunky GW sculpts. No guess work needed!!!

Wow, you're fast! Some of these new Mechanicus models (like this one) really do look cool. Nice job on the reds, they are really smooth and rich, although I feel like you could stillpush the highlights a bit brighter. Are the Mechanicus symbols decals or freehand (I promise not to tell anyone)? If they're decals, good job getting them to adhere well with no edges or crinkles showing. If it's freehand, then you REALLY have been busy this week!

So you're going to the NOVA Open? I've been contemplating it myself. DC is only 3-4hrs away and so many great classes to take...

Thanks! Yeah I might push the reds a bit more, but that will be one of the last steps just after assembly and just before weathering :) I likely won't be there. I always paint stuff for them, but never end up going. All my Vacation time and moneys are spent on family trips so I really only go to local events and workshops.

Looking fantastic so far zab. Hope you feel better now!

i do think you will want to push the contrast on those red hoods , either with a yellow highlight along the top edges or deepening those shadows. They're looking a little bland to me.

Hell yeah love that stage looks great. Feels good to lay down the colors with the AB then tart em up with the brush.

thanks gang, like meaty said i'll likely push the contrast on the read just before weathering, but maybe just darker, as I don't want to lose the red by making it too orange or pink ;)

I'm working the guns, and base are almost done. I'm just not taking more pics of the same crap on different pieces. More pics soon. i promise.

The heads look really cool with those glowing blue eyes. I'm not sure if it's the priming method you're using, but you've got those rich reds nice and smooth.

thanks gang! The reds were all thanks to the golden hi flow transparents. I claim nothing but fluke on an experiment gone right o_O
