Damn your watercolors are nice really capture Red Rock Canyon. I think my opinion of the Vegas area matches yours. As an engineer I loved the Hoover Dam tour, but the Vegas strip did nothing for me...probably because I am not a big gambler and was pushing a two year old around in a stroller.

That's funny Krule, we didn't gamble one red cent either. Also some one ruined Vegas. The strip is over crowded with massive hotels and malls and the old area is now a tacky tourist area where you walk under this cheesy 90's light show. I was sad to return and find that Vegas had sold out o_O The hoover dam was just as big as i remembered and it blew my daughter's mind! She was so into it asking all kinds of questions :)

Thanks BaM, Thanks for the offer Demi, I am back in the wilds of the North now. I am just uploading these slowly when I get a sec during being off with the kid on xmas break :) This one is of my brother in law his daughter and my daughter all walking together. Sketched out in WC pencils first and finished at a reception at a restaurant. We were all down there for a family member's wedding.

Thanks! It's so beautiful there. I'm all used to forest and mountains and crap. I love how different the desert is :)

Yep I hear ya.

I hail from the Midwest of the US, so the desert was amazing to me as well, as well as mountains!

We spent a few days in Vegas (can't say I was overly impressed) but then drove down to the Hoover Dam, and then onto the Grand Canyon and surrounding area and just wandered. We just loved it. Your art really captures it!

We also drove down to Sedona AZ, and it is amazing how much the landscape changes by the time you get there. Sedona was probably the most beautiful town I've been in, ever. Green pine forests surrounded by soaring red buttes. I'd go back there in a heartbeat!

Great thread and love what you're doing. Your style works well but I think you should push the highlights more.
Looking forward to seeing how you progress.

On stress leave for a few weeks. I made it 10 months pulling 20 hrs a day 7 days a week (with only 9 days of vacation) before I broke from all the pressure of my dad's post stroke care, family and work. Not bad. Turns out I am human and need rest though. Weird. So under doctors orders I am to exercise rest and relax until my return to work Feb 13. Which means... I have time to paint?!

Metal and golds all sorted.
