Nah, not yet. I'm not sure I'm going to have time to do it before the deadline though. Got too many projects that I want to do, so this one might not happen.

I hear that! I think i have meant to enter the last 3 MV contests and this is the first one where things have lined up right for me just happening to be between projects. I was gonna do the base one but the amount of time involved for my idea killed it in its infancy, that said it did give me an idea for my next display piece so that is a plus!

Thanks! That is just the first pass with the ab now I have to go back and smooth everything out and make it more intense on edges and closer to the sabers etc There is still a lot to do but finished pics will have to wait until the MV staff say so

Thanks and it's not even done! The secret is fluorescent paints. They look like light actually being cast

I was never a believer of the under tone/shadow method until last year after speaking to a few painters and also following nakatans work.
It most definitely improves depth and is especially effective on skin / flesh.

The trick to white is not to use white! Lol

Great start mate, quick tip concentrate on just a small part of the mini, (eg a leg or arm) get it to near finished so you can tell if your happy with the colour scheme and also it helps with the paint mojo seeing the mini come to life in sections

Thanks ten! Yeah, I think I'm going to use inks to shade once the pearl coat is on to keep the high luster - one section at a time slow and stead sounds like a plan. Gonna have to be super careful on the details, not sure i can do touch ups on the pearl coat
