Zaphod\'s Photo Backgrounds

Alright. The base is a little sloppy still (so ignore that) but my question here is one of a photographic nature.

I am stuck deciding which background to use for my photos...

Suggestions? I may try printing out a dark grey one today, but I probably won\'t bother unless my schedule lightens up some.

I like the First one Glyn.

But, having multiple backgrounds is not a bad thing - I\'ve seen way to many dark figures photographed on a dark background - and way to many light figures on a light background.

At first I thought the middle one too...but looking more closely, the first one seems to work pretty darn well too. In fact I think it added a bit of impact when viewing.

I\'m going with the first one.

I\'d say the second one looks better to me. The others seem to make the mini darker and the colours look better against the lighter background but it\'s not too light so as to wash out all the colour - if that makes sense???

I was going to vote for #1, but I\'m leaning toward #2 because in #1 the shadows look a bit too dark.

#3 is just out.

Damn this is close...

So far, I have 3 for the dark blue, 5 for the light blue and 3 for the purplish blue.

I wish I could find something black that is truly a matte finish... I chose the darkest myself, as it puts all of the attention on the mini so to speak.

Edit: That\'s 6 for dark blue, 5 for light blue and 4 for purply blue now...

Glyn,

I think the first one works best. The light blue of the second one is too similar to the armor and shoes and the last one just seems to have too much color contrast. The last background would be good if it was a bit less saturated.

The problem I have with the darker backgrounds - particularly #3 - , besides the shadows looking darker, is that the edges where there is red it\'s hard to make out. Look at the fingers on the left hand for instance. They just don\'t show up on the purple background.

This is true. I wonder about the back, because the red cloak takes up a greater percentage of the overall coloring...

Still, I think I am leanign towards the top too. The final pics will be bigger soemwhat though, so that might help with the details like the hands Vince.

I say middle! Lookin good though, that\'s for sure. I\'m pretty tempted to give up the whole white paper + Photoshop background myself. I just hate feeling like I\'m wasting ink on something like this. Maybe if I go to Staples and get a 25 cent sheet printed out in color or something... :p

Heh I went with number one. I was starting to find the the slightly purple hue of the last pic was messing with the wine reds a little.

I have him finished and uploaded RIGHT HERE!!!

For this mini I think you went with the right background. I was torn between the first 2 but I was leaning towards #1.

Voted on it as well. :D
