Zero's WIP

I think it's the shine and the fact that the hair isn't blocked in yet. Get the hair basecoated and see how you feel about it then, otherwise you'll overwork the skin. You'll crap when you see how much framing the face with a basecoat on the hair helps. It's looking really good so far though :)

That armour looks great dude but I think you're right about the robe. Have a look at some dark purple robes on the interweb. In this example the shadows are really rich and the highlights have a vibrant sheen to them. Also maybe up the contrast a little on the hair it looks a touch flat at the moment. Face is awesome

Very good, voted. The face looks great, and that is the most important thing when doing a bust. To notch this up even further, take a look at Bailey's WIP and how he does faces by adding extra shades and colors to them.

The only thing I didn't like here, are the engravings on the red part of the armor. There's something about it that makes it seem wrong, as if you haven't highlighted it, but instead rely on natural shadow. I don't think it is what you have done, but it is wrong to my eyes somehow. Maybe this can be improved by adding some highlights.

Hey codenamezero! I just returned to your WIP and see some awesomeness ;) Voted and commented on some of your pics at the gallery.
Seems that you are improving fast fast.
I like the beard's shadow on this last one. I find your NNM gold a bit tad too yellowish, but I still haven't tried my hand at NMM so don't think my opinion on it counts much xP

There's some exceptional work here - looking really good. On the bust I think oistene had it right - the only thing missing is some additional contrasting shades to add life to each element. Bailey03 does this brilliantly (but then he does pretty much everything brilliantly, the sod).

For example, the armour is red - so you've painted it red. But some dark green or blue in the recesses will give it a cooler feel, some brown will give it a faded, worn air. And picking out some areas of highlight in the embossing will give it lots more depth.

Hope that helps.

Blimey - there's certainly nothing wrong with your workrate. I can barely keep up...
