Zero's WIP

Yep it's not that easy. It's a balance act between not getting too grey and still having enough contrast between light and shadows. There has to be enough very dark grey/black so that the brain still reads it as black instead of grey.
But you're on a good track so far. NMM looks great too already although I would probably add some extreme reflexes to push contrast the final step and make it more bling bling. :)
Face looks great too.
Excited to see more progress. I think you might make a huge leap forward with this one again! ^^ It becomes scary a bit :)

Your Abaddon looks great. I wish I could paint like that.
Are you painting over Chaos black spray? Atleast it looks like Chaos black spray to me.

I think it is looking top notch so far. The black is looking really good and the NMM gold is very nice as well.

Voted! The Infinity guy looked awesome and I agree with what everyone else said about the color scheme. Really stellar work, Zero!

Thinking about the reflexes, will be something like this? Some lines between hightlight and shade?

Can't see the attachment sadly but I mean mainly edge highlights. Altough you don't want to highlight the whole contour with a white line. I concentrate on the spots where highlights already are and on sharp corners usually a short edge highlight looks goot to improve definition.

But your're on a very good way here. Face looks great as well as the leg.

Hmmm you could try it but it can look odd. Important, the refelexes in the shadows are way darker then the highlight reflexes. What happened to me when I tried this was that I went to bright, line got too thick and didn't blend in. So I ended up with a nice blend destroyed by a grey line ^^
