Zombie, Terminator, Swamp Things

Hi fellas,
The guys I play 40k with have decided to do a campaign and so I am starting a new army to play in it.
Decided to go with Necrons and I wanna have a much more zombie type feel to them and have them based on swampy looking bases with a few rising out the water here and there.
Now my problem is that I have about 1 month to buy, build and paint a 2k force to be ready in time for the start so am looking at quick easy methods of achieving this to a tabletop level.
This is the general feel I am going to aim for......

I'd like some sort of weed/vine/seaweed looking bits to hang from shoulders and so on so any tips on ways of achieving this would be great.

While i'm here I may as well mention that I plan on painting the necrons a dirty looking silver and just using black and white to pick out bits here and there so alot of the color will be coming from weathering and the base

Thanks in advance fellas, oh and ladies :p

Thanks for the info. The spanish moss seems like it will be the hardest to do. Maybe just teasing out a cotton bud and dying green would do the trick?
Also what does everyone think of the theme? After looking about a bit I have noticed its not the most original idea so if anyone has any other ideas on ways to go with it i'm open to options

Have you tried browsing Michael's, JoAnna's, or another craft shop? Tons of mosses and *different colored* plant materials at a low price. Even cheaper with the store coupon.
