I seem to have stirred up a (admittedly small) hornets nest, so perhaps now is the time for some explanation.
When I painted this piece the intention was to see if I could create a model that evoked the feel of the sculpt and the attendant background without making specific reference to that background. In other words I deliberately avoided the colour red. So yes, it is 'incorrect' in the canonical sense but that was the intention.
Incidentally, thank you to everyone who left a comment, no matter which side of the fence you sit on. |

@smilie23: The Space Wolves don't have Techmarines. They have Iron Priests which serve multiple functions; some of which are different. Much like a Salamanders' Forge Father.
As this is labeled simply "Techmarine", and no modifications have been made to it to suggest it belongs to anything non-Codex, it is in fact, an incorrectly interpreted Techmarine.

One of the best Techmarines I've ever seen. Can it be better? Should it be better? Everyone has an opinion. But now one can deny this is one well done, totally badass piece of art. We should all strive for perfection knowing full well it can never be archived. It's the pursuit that really matters. This piece is pretty damn close to prefect. Your a stud! Keep up the great work. |
