Butterfly - better photos

Hi there,

after my heart was bleeding about not being able to take good photos of my latest painted little scene called "butterfly" i want to say my biggest thanks to my good friend Raffa for giving it another try. This is the result.

I am sorry for the reupload but i think this is much better, we even managed to see a detail of the little butterfly, which is in my eyes the most important thing in this story. The first photos really have been too bright, so i hope this is better now. Thanks to everyone who put a comment on the bad photos, which you can find here:

This one is a long time project of mine. 28 mm. A sharpshooter from Helldorado sitting in a dead harbour of a dead city, waiting for the right moment to take the shoot. The moment did not come yet but there is a butterfly bringing peace to him...

Hope you like it! The base is scratchbuild from Hirst-Art Parts. A tutorial about it can be found here:

I want to say thanks to everyone who helped me with this project. It won a Fantasy Master Gold in this years Duke of Bavaria in Ingolstadt. The butterfly is from the animal set of the company "Busch" and its very tiny...

Feel free to comment this moment of peace and silence.

Here you can find a 360° video of the miniature, got to watch it in HD. I guess it shows more of the natural impression of the model and base:

Keep on happy painting!

This is incredible. I have seen some amazing pieces of art on this site, and this is the first one I have commented on. Simply breathtaking. The butterfly is what really did it for me. The overall atmosphere of the piece gives off such a dark, gloomy mood. Images of WWII come to mind- destroyed building inhabited by malnourished soldiers try to keep warm, surrounded by death and debris- and then, like a beacon of hope- the butterfly appears. The basing is incredible. The flooded cellar is incredible. Truly magnificent work. 11/10

excellent piece, man. as a former shooter myself, this is great. i was thinking that the position of the character isn't really comfortable for a long wait. that's just my technical bit. the vignette is well done. props, dude. props.

I still love your atmosphere and story telling in one mini. It is sometimes incredible how little you need to change the meaning of one scene. Something like a little butterfly. I envy your artistic abilities! That is a great gift! And yes the photos are better now! Greetings, Taggi

I'm a huge fan of this diorama/peice. The structure you have built in particular I love. Could stare at it for hours. Wonderful stuff!
