Dragon

This was a pretty big beast to paint (6 inches long) and even more of a beats tp photograph!! I did this with the aim of selling it so I retained some of the features that he comes supplied with, namely magnetized wings and a howdah that is again magnetized so miniatures can be attached temporarily;y with magnets. Ialso kept the base simple opting for something that would work on the gaming table. I added a magnet beneath its base so it can be attached to the display plinth when not in use. The painting was done using a lot of pigments. The skin, wings and metal work was all done using a painted basecoat and wash. The rest of the colour and shading on these areas was done using Pro Pigments from MDP. It was an experimental process but great fun and has given it an effect I coudltn achieve with paint. For the skin I copied the markings of an Australian Water Dragon. The metal is all NMM copper (using the aforementioned pigments) Pretty pleased with how it turned out, Hope you like it too!!

Gorgeous! I've had this model sitting in a box for years now... I've been too intimidated and unsure how to proceed with it. Your paintjob has inspired me to pull it out of storage and start working on it. Thanks!
